Buy house, get wife too

I thought about putting this in the “humor” category but decided it worked better under “disturbing news”. Via the Denver Channel:

DENVER — Consider it one-stop shopping. Buy a fully-furnished house, get a wife.

Deborah Hale is selling her $600,000 Washington Park brick bungalow on eBay. The home was built in 1910, has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a tanning bed and a hot tub. Furnishings include a big screen TV, lawn tools and a lawn mower.

To sweeten the deal, Hale is including herself in the sale.

The 48-year-old Albuquerque woman, who runs her own wholesale jewelry business, said the offer for a bride is non-binding, which means that neither party is obligated to complete the transaction.

Hale said her online auction is just one way for her to meet new and interesting people. Having been married once before, Hale said women her age have to try harder to meet men and she’s hoping the exposure will allow her to possibly meet the man of her dreams.

“Ideally, I would like for him to be between the ages of 40 and 60. I would like for him to be intelligent. I really love intelligent men. A man who could cook would be wonderful because I am not a great cook,” Hale said.

Hale also wants Mr. Right to be adventurous, kind, physically fit, and generous. He has to have a professional career, should love to travel and children from a previous relationship are welcome, she said.

Wonders never will cease ……

Up to July of this year, I was available. I’ve found a lovely lady, but she is Liberal.

An ad like this might have caught my attention. I agree with Ms. Hale that it is hard to locate singles of the opposite sex that are compatible, available, and looking for a life partner.

I could write a book about the strangeness that is the US single’s scene.

I thought eBay didn’t allow trafficking of people in any way. This was just brought up again this morning in an article I read about PeTA presidnet Ingrid Newkirk offering herself as an “assistant” to the hightest bidder. There was mention of how eBay might boot the offer. Wonder how long this one will last.

May I be a co-writer? LOL :) BTW, congrats on finding someone. Whether liberal or conservative – doesn’t matter as long as the two of you are happy. I’ve always thought it’d be interesting to hook up with a liberal guy …. can you imagine all the sparks? Heh. Could work to my advantage

Elendril: I had heard that somewhere too (about Ebay not allowing trafficking of people) and it surprised me a bit to read about this gal’s ‘offer’ – doubt it will be up on there for long, now that there’s been something written about it.

I should bid 2 cents and then have Ingrid taste test the Angus burgers at Hardee’s/Carl’s Jr. for me.

PCD, well said. I can not stand Ingrid Newkirk. The only good thing about her is that she had herself sterilized. She had some freakish quote about having a baby is like having a pure-bred dog and how that is needless and destroys society.
    She’s a total kook

    Elendril,

I can’t help but recalling the title of a book/movie that goes here, “The Sterile Cookoo”.
