California’s special election

It’s coming up, of course, on Nov. 8th. I know I have quite a few California readers and commenters and wanted to pass on the following: my buddy Cal the Cool at California Conservative has a great series of posts which discuss the propositions on the table and provides many other links for Californians to get all the information they need before going to the voting booth next Tuesday.

  1. - Out here on the “left” coast there has been a steady drumbeat in TV ads and the liberal MSM to try to visually/verbally defeat all of the propositions before the vote even happens. From talking to people its obvious a great many more voters are aware that this may be the last chance for a long long time to break the strangle hold the Liberal Dems have had on our state for so many years and reverse the steady march toward total bankruptsy of the state amd local governments. Candidate Donna Frye will most likely recover from the “Bubblegate” fiasco of the previous election and win the Mayorship here in San Diego. While strongly Liberal in her social and environmental politics, Ms Frye is somewhere to the right of Alan Greenspan in her financial plans/visions, so I’m not so sure the left is going to be all that happy when she wins. Juat another day in paradise.
