Haha! I DO take joy in the fact that the nutcase got canned--there's every reason for them to fire him. Unstable, abusing work computers, etc. Lock him up in the nearest psych ward.

Good for you for following through. Personally I would have let them file charges, because YOU JUST NEVER KNOW. He might be a harmless loser who's a big tough guy at the keyboard, or he could be really serious. When it's a leftard, I tend to believe it's the latter of the two. They ARE mentally deranged. I put absolutely nothing past them.

[...] I just stumbled into Sister Toldjah’s experience with an online troll… a predator at that. I just wanted to let her know that I agree with her judgement on the trolls, and that Jeanette and I can truly relate, as you all know. [...]

This just another example of the hypocrisy of some of the whacko left who spout Freedom of Speech but if it makes them uncomfortable or up sets their ideology they will call names and threaten. You should take every threat serious and use every means at your disposal to thwart the person making the threat. You should also protect yourself by acquiring a Conceal Carry Permit and getting a firearm because no matter how good the police are they can't be everywhere.

Glad to hear you managed to get to the bottom of this, but I feel you erred when you didn't press charges. From your description, this sounds like one fubar'd up person, and a touch with the law would have helped them gain some more perspective. I have NO tolerance for this kind of behavior, and pressing charges is appropriate.

I believe that the maximum punishment, including legal, is required to put a stop to this kind of petty and dangerous activity.

To keep things like this from happening you need to do everything you possibly can to remove the threat, within the scope of the law.

Let those who would do these things realize it will not be tolerated and you have the possibility of losing you job and even possible to be criminally prosecuted. Blogger X got off lucky, he could have been serving jail time also.

Sis, you have a kida heart, I would have done everything and anything to make sure this person was no longer a threat to anyone.

We need to being back the days of personal responsibility, to many shuck it off to someone else. I did this because my father ebat me, or I had a bad life, ect. People have to realize that when you do something, your actiosn are YOURS, not the fault of someone else.

So in saying that, I say if he does the crime let him face his personal responsibility and face the consequences.

Good for you Sis! Anonymous threats should not be tolerated. Threats, serious or not, can only stifle debate, and seriously devalue main strength of the blogosphere (i.e. dialogue). Mindless vituperation will as well, but I guess that's not illegal.

Kudos to USIS for being such an ethically conscious company as well.
