Amen that PCD. I bet he has some awesome stories to tell. I work with alot of Vietnam Vets. When I was growing up my best friend’s Dad was a WWII vet. I could talk for hours to all these guys. To see their faces as they talk about that “Band of Brothers” thing, it is pretty amazing. – Lorica

This year I’m hosting. (My folks and in-laws) But instead of cooking the big traditional meal, we are all going to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire at the Navy Pier IMAX.

We will cook the traditional dinner on Saturday…..

OMG Scmommy, that is Awesome. Sounds like a wonderful time is going to be had by all. PCD your Dad is a retired Vet?? Pam that is wonderful also that you all are going to honor your parents in this way.

It is times like these that I miss my Dad. We will be at my Mom’s this year. It will be fun. Mom has a very large house, and it will be able to fit everyone. I am actually not certain who all will be there. Most likely some of the grand children and great grand children. It will be alot of fun tho. We will see. – Lorica

Our traditional gathering begins Wednesday night, when my brother-in-law comes over to help fry 5 turkeys. While he and my husband are in the backyard, I will be in the kitchen making pecan pies, a few casseroles and salads. On Thursday, we will go to my brother-in-laws where approximately 40 of us will all try to out talk and out eat each other! Thanksgiving reminds me how much I enjoy such a large family! Really!:grin:

I have 8 brothers and sisters so on Thanksgiving Day my oldest sister will have those of us over that don’t have other obligations and on Friday,the entire family will get together at my parents.

I’m taking my girlfriend and her son to see my father who resides in the Wisconsin Veterans’ home. How many of you, especially the liberals who claim to support the troops are going into the nursing homes to visit the old soldiers? And why only on Thanksgiving and Christmas?
