Another senior AQ bites the dust

Posted by: ST on December 4, 2005 at 9:26 pm

In spite of the carping by the usual suspects about how we’ve ‘lost our focus’ in the war on terror, al-Qaeda’s operational commander – Egyptian-born Abu Hamza Rabia, is dead … thanks to an unmanned CIA predator drone.

Bravo!

YES! One terrorist closer to the end of the war on terror.

Damn! Yet another toasted terrorist towel head… That’s just wrong!…

      My main comment was:

      Merry Christmas Diaperhead…

    4. Kevin says:

Some of us may have lost our focus, but thank goodness our hellfire missles haven’t!

    5. PCD says:

I have a question, where do I sign up to be the triggerman for those UAVs?

    6. Lorica says:

You would think, if these guys are doing Allah’s business, that Allah would protect them some what from the “Great Satan”. This would be a horribly surprising way to die. “BAM” Your Dead!!! DOH!!! Who knows, ABL might just be next.

Ohhh let the harping begin from Dems who want to say this was illegal, or unjust, or ….. some BS like that. It amazes me how in the last 10 years, Dems have been on the wrong side of 90 percent of the great events of our lives.

      Not so fast…

“HAISORI, Pakistan, Dec 4 (Reuters) – Pakistani tribesmen on Sunday displayed parts of a U.S.-marked missile they said hit a house and killed two boys, evidence at odds with the government which says an explosion there killed a top al Qaeda commander.
Whatever the cause of the blast, the death of Abu Hamza Rabia would be a coup for Pakistan and the United States which describe him as al Qaeda’s chief of international operations.
But his body has not been found.”

    8. PCD says:

      Zorro,

Reuters has not proven accurate with their stories concerning the WOT in the past. Can you find some new sources of information?

    9. Would that make you happy, Zorro?

    10. Kevin says:

We put the words US and MISSILE on our missiles?

    11. Baklava says:

      Zorro and PCD,

Actually the source was “Pakistani tribesmen”.

Woo Hoo! Zorro takes the cake on that source…

… having too much fun here…

    12. PCD says:

Bak, Reuters is the one that published the story. They have been the xerox machine for much pro-terrorist “news” that later gets debunked.

    13. Baklava says:

HAISORI, Pakistan, Dec 4 (Reuters) – Pakistani tribesmen on Sunday displayed parts of a U.S.-marked missile they said

      Pakistani tribesman displayed and said…

I know it was Reuters…. but the ultimate source was the PT.

Just like the left’s insistence that a Koran was flushed down the toilet because it was in an FBI report. But that FBI report stated that it was a detainee who said it. The left believes the Pakistani Tribesmen and detainees over common sense, physics (need 2500 psi to get the book down the toilet), and other multiple sources….

I worked on the Hellfire missile for over 6 years, and still feel a great deal of pride whenever I see or hear about one being used like this. Great missile, it’s become kind of the No. 2 pencil of air to surface missiles.

After warhead detonation, there is ample scrap left over most times to determine it was a Hellfire. Pieces of the control and guidance sections particularly, they are marked and usually survive in large enough pieces to tell what was what.

Who can say though if it was a Hellfire or not.
