My latest post at Blogs for Bush discusses Robert Novak’s opinion piece from today where he writes that some Democrats in the House are not happy at all with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s leadership skills.
Looks like there is indeed trouble in Dem paradise.

“House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s leadership skills”
What leadership skills? Were they perhaps referring to ‘leading by shrieking’?
Hmmm, maybe Howard Dean is the answer!
Heheheeee!
Pelosi stays but, Jane Harman (D-CA) is going to lose her leadership assignments. Another hawk getting their just desserts. Peace
Steve,
“just desserts”?
You sound like what you preach against…
Novak wrote:
One of the best and longest lasting of Newt Gingrich’s reforms when he became House speaker in 1995 was to institute term limits for Republican committee heads. The Democrats keep their leaders as long as they live.
The Democratic management of legislation in the House is handled by John Dingell, 79, Energy and Commerce Committee (25 terms); Tom Lantos, 77, International Relations (13 terms); John Conyers, 76, Judiciary (21 terms); David Obey, 67, Appropriations (18 terms); and John Spratt, 63, Budget (12 terms). These are men who generally talk about moving the previous question more than moving the nation.
Things aren’t looking UP for the Democrats. And if they keep up their PATTERN of making false allegations against Bush as opposed to coming up with ideas and presenting them things will only get worse.
I’d rather there were two STRONG parties with ideas. It’d be better for this nation. Unfortunately we have two LEFT OF CENTER parties that are both weak that don’t appeal very strongly to the most people. More people vote in Iraq than in the U.S.
I believe the 60 million votes that Bush got could be 70 or 80 million easy if he stepped to the center and worked with the Republicans to step to the center and come up with ideas to deal with illegal immigrants and tackle dependency on social programs type issues.
- Heh – “The Nancy problem” as Congressional Dembulbs put it. According to the grapevine, they’re down on her mostly because she has been effective in making political hay out of what they call “Republican mis-steps”. I can hear them in caucus, arguing it out….
Reid: “Damn-it we can’t look weak and dis-organized in the least. We’re already the “out” party trying to get back in. We have to pull together at any cost….”
Schummer: “Harry…. whats the point of inventing all these perfectly good outrages and political mudraking issues if we can’t capitalize on them because our minority whip keeps blurting out facts we’re trying to hide. This is stupid….”
Reid: “Well do what you want. I have bigger problems…and I’m not giving the money back…everyone knows this is a Republican scandel, so I’ll just stonewall until it all blows over…”
Schummer: “How are you going to handle it?..”
Reid: “I never took the money directly….It was always burried in fund raisers and campaign contributions, so I’m clean….The idiots can’t prove anything….thats my story and I’m sticking to it… Now what are we going to do about the wiretap backlash mess. Just like the Plame thing. You said we’d get Rove and all we got was a stuck on stupid sign on our foreheads. This wiretap thing looks like it could blow up in our faces. The public is totally against us on this….Calling us the defeat-o-crats.”
Schummer: “Look…. we just keep hammering away on the idea that Bush broke the law. Use the usual scare words – “Out of control executive”… “Lawless administration”… “Spying on innocent Americans”…We keep up the drum beat some of these things have to start working for us…”
Reid: “I hope you’re right…. So far we’re 0 and 15 against Bush, and the elections are just around the corner…If we go down I’m laying this right at Nancy’s doorstep….I’ll tell you that….”
Schummer: “Alright Harry….take your meds and calm down….you’ll excite yourself….”
- Bang –
- make that “has NOT been effective” PIMF
- Reid did his bit for the leftwing party base today, using his daily call for anyone thats a Republican to “step down”. In this case it was Chartoff, using the reasoning that he did such a poor job during Katrinna. As usual the Dhimmycrat leader has done impeccable research before he spoke. Chartoff took over after Ketrinna, and the OHD Director, LA Mayor, and Governor, had already made a complete mess of things….Once again Harry – thank you for being you…. *snort*
- Bang
LOL- thanks for the clarification, Bang. I was wondering there for a sec
Is bush running again? Who cares what he thinks. Reid isn’t running for anything and he really makes the Right nuts–that’s entertainment. You guy’s are really starting to lose focus, what with all the sleeeeeze balls who use to supply the talking points getting their affairs in order before going to court. JUST DESSERTS: what are the wages of sin? That punishment wasn’t a creation of mine. Peace
Steve, You being GLAD that someone is getting “just desserts” sounds to me a little sinful?
I hope and am glad when people are pursuaded to say and do the right thing. You hope and are glad when people get their “just desserts”. Plus you want a bloodbath. Why do you want a bloodbath Steve?
I’ll be sure to refer people to the post here where you are expressing glee over someone getting their “just desserts”.
Honestly Steve, I truly do hope to pursuade you that your arguments are flawed. I’m not sure why I waste my time as you do not engage with intelligence or factual statements. I end up having to use psychological mirror tools on you.
- Well Stevie…. you should try convincing your liberal cult buds of that, in as much as the entire Dem cadre has spent the past 6 years+ trying every trick in the book to “get him”, at the expense of forming any cohesive party plan in the least. To look at their antics and stupid mis-guided “scam-a-thons”, you’d think it was 2004. Earth to Liberals. You lost.
- Bang
If the democrats would play less political games and actually have some sort of answer besides obstructionism and withdrawl syndrom, more of the public would be more inclined to listen to what they have to say.
Unfortunately democrats have the same sorry standard bearer of “We must get out of Iraq”, “We need to bring the troops home”, “We went to war for the Oil”, “Spying on the enemy is illegal”…ect
Just becasue you repeat something oevr and over again does not mean it is the truth. From a normal citizen view, I keep hearing the everything negative from the democrats it just turns me off from listening to them. They have yet to offer a plan, any plan, besides disrupting a region we are trying to stabilize now. Once it is stable enough and the Iraqis can take over on thier own, the President has a plan to withdraw, but only when the objectives set out have been met.
The Plan is to end the use of hydrocarbons as the main source of the worlds energy. That is a hugh task. We don’t make it any easier by drilling for more oil or going to war to steal our supplies. bush is doing the bidding of Big Oil and the military industrial complex represented by Halliburton. Peace
Now, steve, you are lying here. What oil did we steal? You really discredit yourself further when you regurgitate such wacko drivel.
The plan?
Your plan hasn’t been the plan. Oil was used in increasing numbers during “Clinton’s” great economy as thats what it takes to run an economy.
You know, it only takes one person to change the world.
But it ain’t gonna be this guy Steve. Piece.
Focus. Hydrocarbons. Oil, gas. The United States of America must begin, now, to stop using oil as it’s main source of energy. And if we do not want Iran or North Korea to have Nuclear power plants, neither should we. Smaller cars, less plastic, better gas mileage, more public transporation, more solar, more wind, more water produced electricty……you come up with some. Peace
I guess Steve is smarter than all of the other collective heads put together working on energy sources and solutions…
NOT
BTW, If I like my minivan Steve are you in favor of a big government solution of taking away people’s minivans?
You can drive anything you like as long it it gets 50mpg. Although, it would be helpful if the government would subsidize solar panels on rooftops so we can all get off the Grid. Get creative, this can be fun if you just give in and enjoy the ride. Peace
Thanks for the big government solution dictating that my 20MPG minivan must get 50. I guess it’s banned in your world. Thank the Lord your not in charge.
Government subsidizing solar panels on rooftops. That’s 100% taxpayer dollars and then administrated by the government it turns into 50% taxpayer dollars for solar panels and 50% for the beaurocracy. Steve, honestly, I don’t like to challenge someone’s intelligence but you have not read much at all if you think that the beaurocracy would give more than 50% to the actual product versus the administrative costs.
Also, you haven’t done research on how much square footage of solar panels is required to produce enough wattage to matter. A rooftop covered with solar panels will cost over $50,000 for that system and not produce enough wattage to allow you to a) turn on the oven b) have the water heater kick on c) have the air conditioning run. It’ll produce enough wattage only for the outlets and lights in your house. Nobody is going to pay that much money for that inadequate of a system. That is why they aren’t doing it. You have to do EVERYTHING different.
And your pattern of blaming Bush for a way of Americans living their lives for over 6 decades is indecent, arrogant, unintelligent and without perspective.
You need to start today by having posts without inaccurate accusations and solutions that guarantee a bloodbath. I’m thinking everyone here would love to see 10 straight posts from you that are responsible and intelligent. Irresponsible writing doesn’t get any of us anywhere.
“Intelligent”, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and God loves the little children. Also, nothing costs more than it’s worth except to the buyer. The only thing I blame bush for is either incompetence or complicity in the ruination of this country. And that’s just my opinion which in the good old USA I get to express freely. Peace
Irresponsible rhetoric at best Steve. There is not a minivan in the market place for me to buy that gets 50 MPG and is the size I have. It is not due to evil or corruption as you would inaccurately assert.
It would not be responsible either to spend $50,000 per house (of people’s money) for photovoltaic cells when the money could better be spent for shelter, food for my kids and putting some away for a college fund. I’m sure you would’ve mandated that I was poor by having the government mandate that I spend money on solar panels for my house that wouldn’t even give me the energy I need entirely.
Your rhetoric is without research, competence and is with gross negligence. You spout without the due diligence. This means that you lack personal responsibility. You can do this freely in this counntry. You are free to lack personal responsibility. And so many do. And you accuse them of it daily in so many other words. You lack peace. You are full of accusations and without personal responsibility for your own self. That is the opposite of being peaceful.
Is anything out there getting 50mph?? Even the hi-breds are only getting into the lower 40s and that is in the best of conditions. Wind from the behind and no hills or mountains to climb. So unless you live in Nebraska or Kansas you aren’t even going to do that well. – Lorica
The Ford Escape Hybrid which would be the closest in size to a minivan gets 30 MPG.
Steve does not understand energy at all. This is a topic that I’ve done a lot of study on for over 2 decades.
While he wishes for utopia in every solution of his, there is no recognition of reality. Do to this pattern of Steve’s he’d have more GOOD people killed, pass legislation that isn’t supported by science, have people spend money on things that would keep them from spending money on the basic necessities, move the government more further to the left than it has already been moving for the last 6 decades.
We aren’t saying we don’t care Steve. We are saying that solutions need recognition of 2 things 1) present circumstances 2) results if implemented based on history, facts and science and human patterns.
Your human pattern is to call names and accuse people of things that aren’t true just because they don’t agree with your utopian ideas that wouldn’t work.
Are we the people to stupid to engineer and build a minivan that can get 50mpg OR is Big Oil preventing it from happening? Focus on the first part of the question “can it be done?” not the rhetoric or conspiracy of “what rat- bastar..is stopping progress”. It is mandatory that the American people cut their use of hydrocarbons or we will spend the next 100 years fighting terrorist who want to blow-up the pipelines. Peace
If you want to be irresponsible and call people names like “stupid” you can. I’d say that your judgements are part of a pattern of personal irresponsibility.
People all around the world are working on this problem. It isn’t just up to the U.S. to figure this out. It has to be economical (something people can afford) as well as safe. Toyota (with 25 billion in cash) is beating the pants off the other auto manufacturers so to speak. Their best offering costs them more money than they sell it for and is 1/2 the size and weight of my minivan and only gets a real world of 35-40 MPG. The Ford Escape does 30 MPG.
If all you have to offer is ACCUSATIONS and name calling Steve, I’d say you debate tactic is the opposite of peaceful. You want bloodbaths and name calling and accusations. Why do you want these things Steve?
BTW, If it’s not one excuse it’ll be another. People have no excuse for slitting the throats of that woman’s kids as she pleaded for the guy not to do it (and as Steve would’ve stood by and not stopped him either). People have no excuse for blowing up others in cafes, batmitzvah’s, train stations and World Trade Center’s. You can OFFER excuses for these bloodbath types all you wish but if one reason is erased there will be more. You cannot appease evil you can only overcome or defeat it.
