Alito also mentioned that he was influenced by the national review and william f. buckley in the 60′s. He should be asked if he believes in the racist claptrap that those guys were writing during the civil rights movement.

Yes I have already been in discussions with friends that say Alito is going to “Set back women’s rights issues 40 years”. Now when I press them on exactly how this 1 man is going to do that, they cannot really answer except he is going to take away abortion on demand or late term abortion or some such. To which I again ask how. Just how exactly is 1 man going to do this. Of course I get hung up on or anger as they don’t know. They are only repeating the empty rehtoric of NOW or Naral or whatever they are called this week. It is sad to be so uninformed in this day and age. – Lorica

Dems desperate on Alito

If the Democrats really want to deny Alito a seat on the Supreme Court, they need to do a little better than “he was in a club with a guy that wrote something that was racist in 1982″.

The strategy, if you want to call it that by those opposing Alito, is weak. It’s so weak I call it “The CAP Strategy Against Alito is a Byrd CAP Strategy”

On the issue that they attack, Alito seems very progressive based on his stewardship of the “Boundaries of Privacy in American Society” task force. Things must be looking mighty bad in the anti-Alito camp for this to be their strategy. It looks for all I can tell to be an effort to Bork him from within the republican party like Meirs. That’s not going to happen, and it is telling of just how weak the argument against Alito is from those who oppose and are organized against his nomination…………………………
