Aye me too Severian. He was President in tough times. I still remember how mad I was at him for pardoning Richard Nixon. Ohhh well water under the bridge, that decision by him didn’t really affect me then and it doesn’t in anyway affect me now. – Lorica

Former President Ford once spoke at my high school. After all the jokes about him, I was surprised to learn that he seemed like an intelligent, serious, decent man with a lot of interesting things to say. I think that was my introduction to the way both news and entertainment media treated (and still treats) Republicans, and I paid a LOT more attention to what Ronald Reagan had to say after that, instead of just listening to what I was told about him.

Ford, as did Reagan, and Bush 41, have behaved themselves with quiet dignity and have not gone out of their way to lambast or criticize the presidents which followed them. They demonstrate a level of class and maturity former Democratic presidents can not hope to equal.

Ford is a good man, and I hope he recovers quickly.
