Why is bush trying to sell our major seaports to the UAE? Not enough taxes going into the treasury to cover the costs of his illegal war in Iraq? Peace

- Well with the "victim" himself going front and center, and "apologizing" for the trouble the accident has caused Cheney and his family, I guess that pretty much sends this opportunity for "perception bending" by the moonbats and the Royalty press completely out the window. Notice the timing: perfectly with the VP and presidents speeches today. Damn that Rove is good.

- Gear for hunting party including 28 gauge, plow boots, orange jacket, pocket flask and GPS unit - $1200....

- 5 days of moonbat lunacy and Regal elite Liberal press public whine-a-thon - priceless....

- Wonder if RemCo will follow up with a "Cheney "A" team great white hunter" action figure....

Anyone making $125,000 or more should be taxed at 100% on every penny over $125,000. That doesn't impact anyone on this blog, right? And all property over $1,000,000 should be taxed at 100% at your death. Peace

- Oh and while we're on the subject that 'bbbaaaaaadddd' tax cut that ChimpyBushMcHitler and his 'evil neocon' admin had to force down the throats of the obstructionist Democrats, and resulted directly in stimulating the economy so well that unemployement is at an alltime record low in many states and overall across the entire country, annnnnddd yeilded that 14% revenue increase was the very reason that the Republican congress, in partnership with Bush, could increse entitlement programs to an all time high of 392 billion, exceeding anything Clinton ever did by some 87%, EVEN AFTER inflation really sucks, according to the looney desperate left. But you know....Its the perception that counts and not the realities for the Liberals. Talk enough bad, loud enough and long enough, and maybe someone will believe you. Cite a few isolated pockets of hardship, and ignore the record number of people living better than ever. Find any exceptions you can use to misrepresent the greater truths. Thats the way the left plays the game.

:) They can reject the free market, supply and demand all they want but unless they take approaches as mentioned in the Road to Serfdom and by leaders who were Marxist a lot of death and struggle will have to occur before a government or portion of the population tries to impose no market forces or no supply and demand. It is the reason communism and marxism causes so much death is that it has to be something imposed on the dominated because it isn't palatable for people like me who want to succeed/exceed and provide a better standard of living for my family. It is not acceptable for me to not care, not work harder, not have initiative or have initiative and work hard and yet earn the same as some schlepp on a hammock. It burns me up when I see state workers next to me sleeping and doing nothing all day but I'm bouncing around from task to task accomplishing and caring. That state worker is my tax dollars going to that person as a welfare type program. Market forces should apply in government services as well in some fashion.

Bang wrote, "<em>Products and services will just somehow magically appear with no need for incentives. </em>" Yeah people will just invent, start companies, take risks, spend hours trying to find a cure for a disease to meet the demand for a cure for a disease all for nothing. There will be no prosperity and no suffering because as the Marxists thinks everyone will be taken care of, yet the marxist doesn't understand human nature and why this country is so prosperous. Prosperity to the communist/socialist is evil and needs to be redistributed as much as possible. Unfortunately for the communist/socialist they don't understand WHAT THE RESULTS of said policy would be.

- Well see now you're throwing around facts and reality Bak, so you're going to be hated immediaetly by the "elitists". They reject the free market, supply and demand. Products and services will just somehow magically appear with no need for incentives. People will go out and work hard just for the hell of it. The old Marxist saw "from each according to their abilities, to each according to their needs", which in a perfect world would no doubt work fine. That we don't live in a perfect world can't penetrate the Liberal mind, anymore than I could ever get my "artist" ex-wife to understand that the 30 parking tickets she'd aquired over the years and jammed in the car glove compartment, was really more than just an annoying distraction. Liberals find true enlightenment when they give up all the daydreaming and look around at the realities of the world. Short of that you're wasting you time.

Fact: During the recession that started mid year of 2000 and extended through 2002 (which was ended quickly due to the tax cuts), revenues into the government decreased. Why? Because corporations/businesses/individuals had less income/profit to pay taxes on. That is what happens during a recession that was not caused by the tax cuts of 2001 and 2003 but in fact the economy was boosted by the tax cuts. When people are able to keep more of their own money that gives them more money that they can save or spend. When they spend they BUY MORE GOODS AND SERVICES and that means that businesses have to supply more goods and services and it means that businesses have to hire more to provide those goods and services. When the economy improves (due to those tax cuts) there is more profits and income and the government gets more revenues as exampled STEVE by the <strong>14.1%</strong> increase in government revenues last year.

Do you Steve recognize that there was a 14% improvement in revenues and do you recognize that there was NOT a 14% income tax rate hike? Do you recognize that the amount of revenues is linked ENTIRELY to how the economy is doing and not due to the tax rate. The tax rate simply influences how well the economy does. The exact WRONG thing to do during a recession would've been to raise tax rates as that would've hurt the economy during the recession even more. Do you understand that Steve?

Steve without understanding wrote, "<em>In addition using only my $50,000 single earner income floor</em>

Why not make it $100,000? Everyone earns enough to live! Yeah. This is simple economics 101 Steve but if by decree everyone earned no less than $50,000 then inflation would jump that year and $50,000 would not buy as much as it used to. Then what make a decree for $60,000? This isn't hard to understand but for some it is. I was in a debate in 1992 with a guy in the Navy who thought everyone should just earn $90,000 (I'm not sure why he chose that number). To illustrate my point I said, wow, then everyone could afford a Lexus right? He said yes. So the demand for Lexi would skyrocket and therefore Lexi would cost more or only the first few thousand customers would get one and nobody else would. Everyone would want a luxury car. Well people would NOT settle for that. People would offer more and more for their car so they could be the one to get their car. EVerything would cost more to the point that things were AGAIN out of their price range and it would happen quickly. THis is SIMPLE Steve. Very simple. Prices reflect what the market would bear. What people would pay for goods and services simply doesn't get erased.

You may think you mean well but your solutions would cause poverty, hardship, less government revenue, bloodshed, pain, suffering. I'm sorry you don't see it but maybe someday you will.

When the economy improves (due to those tax cuts) there is more profits and income and the government gets more revenues as exampled STEVE by the 14.1% increase in government revenues last year.

The exact WRONG thing to do during a recession would’ve been to raise tax rates as that would’ve hurt the economy during the recession even more. Do you understand that Steve?

Steve without understanding wrote, “In addition using only my $50,000 single earner income floor

Why not make it $100,000? Everyone earns enough to live! Yeah. This is simple economics 101 Steve but if by decree everyone earned no less than $50,000 then inflation would jump that year and $50,000 would not buy as much as it used to. Then what make a decree for $60,000? This isn’t hard to understand but for some it is. I was in a debate in 1992 with a guy in the Navy who thought everyone should just earn $90,000 (I’m not sure why he chose that number). What people would pay for goods and services simply doesn’t get erased.

You may think you mean well but your solutions would cause poverty, hardship, less government revenue, bloodshed, pain, suffering. I’m sorry you don’t see it but maybe someday you will.

- Steves agenda is bourne from the frustration that some people have at that defining moment in their lives when they find out the simple truth, that there is no free lunch. We have a system that depends on individual initiative, which some lack to be sure, but thats not even the Liberals problem. In this world you have the choice of working hard or trying to use your brain to skate. Those that work hard are not always rewarded approprietly. Thats the aspect of life Steve and his friends really can't accept. All things being equal, you still might fail. There is a certain amount of luck involved. They hate that. They blame that imperfection on our system, and way of life, because in their eyes you have to demonize something tangible in order to skew the system, otherwise you can't change the equation to what they really want; Governmental nannystateism from cradle to grave. They can't get around the realities of life, so the target the most visable scapgoat. They blame and blame and blame some more, trying to twist the dialog and reframe the reality to affect change. The real fly in their ointment, such as it is, is not so much the unwillingness to accept that lifes not perfect. The real flaw is thinking that Utopian communistic ideas can ever work. The world doesn't change for a second just because you wish it would, True changes, for better or worse, evolve with time. For now, our way of life and our Government approach seems, to be the best we can do, the best anyone has ever done on the world stage. It affords the greatest opportunity to the largest number of people, and freedoms that no other people in the world enjoy. Could it be better. Yes. Will it be improved. Yes. Is it not a panancea. Democracy, in the for5m of our Representative republic is still an experiment, which for some 200+ years, seems to have worked pretty well, where so many other forms of governance have failed across the globe. But the Liberals are an impatient lot, so rather than work positively within the system, they seek to tear everything down and replace it with a system that has failed on countless occassions already in history. But for frustrated people the truth seldom serves to deflate their anger, so they press on. Hope, and sadly sometimes its ever present twin, denial, springs all to easily in some peoples minds. Fortunately age and wisdom generally overcomes the anger of youth, and realities are accepted, as well as the law of unintended conscequences, which head strong activists simply tend to ignore, causing even more problems and suffering. One nice thing about accepting lifes many truths is it lets you deal and really contribute more than just words and emotion.

Fact: After the tax cut of 2001, revenue from the federal income tax dropped from $994 billion to $809 billion in 2004, even though the economy was growing. That means, Hunter, that you are just flat wrong about what Laffer's Curve actually shows in real life. In addition using only my $50,000 single earner income floor, tax rates would be zero(0) for incomes under $50,000. That would include about 60% of today's wage and salary earners. Under the over $125,000, 100% tax proposal, only the wealthist Americans would be taxed and that is how it should be. They can take one less vacation to St. Moritz or to Texas, shooting birds each year. Peace
