Third-I think Abdul Rahman is guilty of being a Christian, and that shouldn't be a crime. The Apostle Paul stood in chains before King Agrippa, charged with being a heretic. The Jews wanted him killed, and appealed to their Roman rulers-Paul, as a Roman citizen had the right to be tried before Caesar, or at least his representative. Felix had kept him alive as a prisoner for two years, when Festus took over he passed the buck to the Roman proxy King Agrippa, who knew a hot potato when he saw one, and sent Paul on to Rome. Paul could have won his freedom at any time during his imprisonment simply by denying Christ, thus satisfying the Jewish leaders who would be happy to welcome him back into the fold. Abdul Rahman could follow Paul's example, remain in jail in Afghanistan, declaring his faith in Christ rather than simply going free. Deal...or no Deal? Open thread? Score!
