Absolutely gorgeous :)

Posted by: ST on April 1, 2006 at 10:51 am

It’s a gorgeous day here in Charlotte, NC and I’m going to be out enjoying it :) I’ll be back to blogging later today before the final four starts.

Consider this an open thread. I’ll release any non-spam/non-troll comments held in moderation as I can later today.

Happy Saturday!

Sunday AM Update: Sorry, but time got away from me yesterday and I didn’t get a chance to do any blogging … today is going to be much the same as I have a birthday party to attend and I’m one of the people helping to coordinate it so I have a lot to do :) I’ve a lot of catching up to do here at the blog, which I will try to do tonight or first thing tomorrow.

In the meantime, check out Memeorandum to find out what the blogosphere is buzzing about today … the top story is about Jill Carroll’s disavowing the statements she made while under duress (and in captivity) in Iraq.

We may not know it for some time, but “history” (whenever that is), will show that the (illegail and pre-emptive) war in Iraq, was the “right startegic decision”, said Rice in London yesterday. William F. Buckley, told Bloomberg News, yesterday that bush’s war in Iraq had “failed”, and we should be seeking opportunities to “get out”. Condi’s “someday over the rainbow” approach looks silly in light of Buckley’s comments. Peace

    2. Severian says:

Yeah, if you want to take the word of a dried up, self important old fart like Buckley instead of a vibrant, competent, intelligent woman who’s on top of her game. Of course, if Buckley was saying the same thing that Rice was, you’d disparage him as well.

    3. Lorica says:

LOL So true Severan. Steve will quote anyone, and I mean ANYONE, who agrees with his side of the discussion. Of course when you are on the losing side this begins to look like desperation. – Lorica

ST its the same here in Loganville, GA have done nothing but work in the yard all day and getting the garden ready for planting. Have to go to Home Depot to get some more top soil filling in low spots in the yard and where the dogs have dug some holes. Have had Goldfinches, Blue Jays and Cardinals at the bird feeders all day there’s nothing better than spring in the south. Just finished sitting on the back porch looking at what I have done and what still needs to be done and having a cocktail just relaxing for a few minutes watching the sun starting to set.

    5. - First item for today is Ms Jill Carrol, having been flown to Germany this morning, has released a press statement which does a complete 180 from her previous statements, and truth once again rises to the surface as Liberal “progrssives” have to face yet another “outing” of their ass-backwards view of the intent and actions of their beloved “freedom fighters”, the Jihadist murdering thugs, Mahadjideen, al Qaeda, outlaw militia’s, ect. Ms Carrol made it clear that all of the statements and the video expressing anti-American views were done under the threates of death from her Captors, whom she now characterises in the proper way as simply thugs and murderers with no regard for the value of human life. Her statements go on to state that…”[many] times she was threatened, and was in fear for her life until she felt safely away from Iraq and could fell free to state the truth of her captivity. More on her statements here. So much for Liberal “truth”.

    6. steve says:

The Left is against, not for, opposed to all violence. It dosen’t matter who is using it, the Left wants it to stop. So to claim that the Left is supporting anyone who is using violence to solve a situation is just flat lying. That person is a liar. I don’t know what’s up with this lady but she sounds alot confused to me. Could it be because she works for the pro-Zionist Christian Science Moniter? Peace

    7. Severian says:

Gee steve, that must be why the leftist unions and Dems attack Republican party offices, and why your fellow leftist anti-war moonbats attack counter protesters who have differing opinions. 8-|

    12. CZ says:

“The Left is against, not for, opposed to all violence”

Now just think about that for a minute………………..:o)

    13. Mwalimu Daudi says:

CZ, I know you are sure that you believe that you comprehend what you deduce that you are positive that you understand what steve said, but I am not sure that you think that you know that what he said might not have been what he didn’t want you to not think that he was against trying to have you fail to understand.

Or something to that effect. Heckfire, I was against writing this post before I was for it.:((

    14. steve says:

General Anthony Zinni(Ret),ex-Commander of CENCOM, had alot to say about bush, today on Meet the Press. Zinni, said that bush was an idiot and is directly responsible for the “mess” in Iraq, because he wanted a war in Iraq, at any price. bush knew, Zinni said, that there were no WMD’s in Iraq and that a war in Iraq would destroy the American military through attrition. bush, may be a war criminal, and he is certainly a fool. Peace

Why are they always guys named ‘Steve’?

    16. qdpsteve says:

In true fashion, Stalinist Steve once again refuses to answer a serious challenge and instead resorts to typical liberal name-calling. He needs to be ridiculed and ostracized for the bumblef***ing left-wing moron that he is.

How do you manage to put up with these morons anyway, ST???

    17. Mwalimu Daudi says:

ST: Here is a fantabulous example of al-CNN at its finest:

“[Jill Carroll] even lambasted her captors, who allegedly killed her interpreter, Alan Enwiya, when they abducted her in western Baghdad in January.” (bold & italics added)

Gee – what ingratitude from Jill! What’s a few little ol’ death threats, kidnappings and murders among friends? Might we look forward to articles saying that she was allegedly kidnapped?

The original al-CNN article can be found here.

This kind of thing makes me feel all warm and fuzzy, even though it is still chilly where I’m at, this or scotch.

btw, Hey camojack, nice ride.. I wanted to say it directly but I don’t have a blogger account.

    19. steve says:

Stalin was a religious anarachist also? Now, that is something I was unaware of. Once again, all violence is counter-productive and that is what Jill is saying. But, because she works for a pro-Zionist, pro-war newspaper there is more to this then meets the eye. Peace

    20. Pickaxe Pete says:

I’d just like to see more news stories that are NOT about the people who are allegedly there to report them.
