The NYTimes is reporting:
On another front, Republicans said that Tony Snow, a commentator for Fox News and a former speechwriter for Mr. Bush’s father, was in negotiations for the job of White House press secretary.
If things get worked out and Snow indeed gets the position, I know I’ll start paying closer attention to the daily press briefings ![]()

I still would like to see Newt or Perot have a go at it, but Snow is well equipped.
Perot…heh heh
“I would like you to look at these dozen or so charts, detailing……”
Probably put half the news room to sleep.
Each time, a new chart…
But as press sec?
No, I do not believe he would even deem to take the job first of all, and second, doesn’t seem to be his style.
Could put Louis Farrakan or Al Franken up there just for the Comedy of it all.
Dumping Scott McClellan is the best thing this administration has done lately. No less than Tony Snow will do. I would love to see Thomas Sowell or Walter Williams.
Al Franken is the ugliest man in America.
