I watched this game last night and the ‘Canes looked like champions. In game three, they had to play comeback kid and didn’t complete the ‘comeback’ – but last night, the ‘Canes came out the victor.
I have a new nickname for ‘Canes goalie Martin Gerber: “The Wall.” The guy was fantastic in stopping all 22 shots – it was his first ever postseason shutout.
Game 5 will be played Sunday night at 9 pm ET in Raleigh – ‘Canes territory ![]()

Haha the wall, eh?
I’d say what’s more impressive is allowing only 22 shots on goal on the road.
Buffalo is banged up defensively so that should bode well for the Canes the rest of this series. What concerns me is the rotating of goalies (Gerber, Ward, Gerber). Obviously you can’t keep a guy in there who isn’t getting the job done, but it’s usually better to ride one goalie throughout the playoffs. But hey, there’s a first time for everything and perhaps the Canes can do it. You can’t argue with the fact that when they change goalies they win.
LET’S GO CANES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Up 3 games to 2 now — nice win last night in a game where they certainly did not play very well. They can wrap it up in Buffalo.
I’ve already got my Staal jersey ready to go for the Stanley cup finals. I don’t care how much it costs, if they make it to the finals I’m going to at least 1 game!!!
