THIS IS REALLY REALLY SAD. TOO MUCH DOUBLE STANDARDS BY THE MILITARY LEADERSHIP AND PRESS TODAY.

Look at the lyrics of a song that was heralded by the press as being candid. Now look at the jacka**es edited -B like Andrew Sullivan not only providing double-standard treatment but LYING about this Marine’s song Hadji girl. LYING. Bald face LYING. Andrew Sullivan has gone off the deep end of lies in these last 2 years.

  2. Baklava says:

Erica is a wife of a Marine in shackles (news found at MM’s site)

She writes on her website: With him imprisoned and without the support of the Marine Corps, I was left to fight this fight alone. On an enlisted man’s salary, I had quite a fight ahead of me.

    A father of a marine being held has his website also. He writes on his website: Sadly, the US Marine Corps leadership has turned its back on my son and his squadmates in a Quixote-like search for political correctness;

The wife of the Navy corpsman being held has her website here. She writes: Two Marines died in my husband’s arms.

  3. Bak, I linked up to Michelle’s post on musical double standards last night .. FYI

  4. benning says:

Shows how empty the MSM is. This is what they’ve come to: Attacking the man who writes a song for his buddies, a joke to make his buddies smile. Time to turn the guns around and start suing the Lefties. You know there are grounds for suits. Let’s sue them for a change! Strip them of their wealth for once! Yeesh!

Me, I have a ‘Mea Culpa’ on my blog. I got paranoid. Insufficient data. Come throw brick-bats at me: A Tad Different: What To Make Of It?

IT’s MADDENING STUFF. I’M READY to PUNCH the next liberal who mentions Haditha. We are living with a bunch of negligent lazy ***** edited -B who can’t offer one ounce of innocent until proven guilt. And it aint just liberals. It’s the Marine BRASS and Unites States PRESS.

There is no reason for our men to be in harms way if they can’t fire back! It’s almost as if this is a plot by Marine BRASS to lower morale and sabotage success in Iraq. I don’t know what hte heck is going on. We couldn’t have a more stupid set of events going on.

  6. sanity says:

What happens when there no longer is a Military for America?

Seems like a scene from the Twilight Zone, but what happens if our men and women in uniform decide to quit, get out, left the military in droves because the military Brass, the media and even our government seemed to be against them, they are constantly under the microscope, constantly berated for the job they do, they are tarred and feathered in the media and get emtpy words from our Government and the Brass seems to fold at the slightest bit of pressure….

What happens when our Military mend and women says it has had enough…

Far reaching, perhaps, but definately a question worth asking.

  7. Baklava says:

Not far reaching from my perspective….

  8. - The good news is, some of the unjustly charged Marines are lawyering up. At some point the noodle heads in the upper ranks will see its more costly to play PC games than push back against the stupid Liberal press.

    - Me, I’m looking forward to the unmasking of these partisan Liberal scumbags like Murtha. I personally think a lot of them have taken leave of their senses, or in Murtha’s case its all a political ploy, as he so nicely proved last week, when he tried to promote himself to majority leader. What a rat….

I know most people here are not fans of Ann Coulter (I am), but she was in perfect form on Leno last night (watch it here).

“I mean, I’m calling liberals Godless and they’re like ‘We are cool with that… just don’t say anything bad about the Jersey girls’”

    Hehe, I love this lady.

  10. - Dianne Feinstein was just on FOX, and it was interesting because I think we got to see a little bit of the “New” new Liberal position on the WOT (the one that doesn’t really exist). Of course she paraphrased everything with the usual “We have to start planning for a pullout of our troops now” screed, (as if that hasn’t been the unspoken plan from day one), but she also said a few other revealing things.

“We need to say that the death of Zarqawi was a big accomplishment, no matter whether you think he was fighting for a cause, cutting off heads and blowing up innocent men, women, and children is no way to lead a movement, so his death was important and necessary.”

    - With that we see a subtle message to the hard left to get off the negativism; that its killing the Democrats image with the electorate. You saw some of it the other day at the Liberal “take back America” conference, when Hillery said she was not in favor of an announced hard exit date.

    - The Dem leadership, well some of them anyway, Reid still seems to be living in a dream world, knows that they can’t hope to win on an anti-military/anti-American platform. The last two weeks has been a wake-up call to the Dimbulbs. All that time an effort they and their Left-wing press lap dogs spent, driving Bush’s job approval numbers down, and in the space of a few weeks it starts back upwards. The handwriting is on the wall for the Dems, Get a more centrist message or gird for more losses at the ballot box come 2006 and 2008. I expect to see even more of that, as the wheels come off the leakers, and anti-war politico’s, and lying yellow press people, who may end up in court at some point, explaining themselves in front of the TV camera’s. People like that opportunistic crumb Murtha, come to mind.

Yeah Bak, but what do they know? I bet they don’t even know how to program in COBOL, the whiny, no humor twits! :d

  12. Baklava says:

Here is a small sample of the side of the debate we almost never hear:

Appearing before the Commons Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development last year, Carleton University paleoclimatologist Professor Tim Patterson testified, “There is no meaningful correlation between CO2 levels and Earth’s temperature over this [geologic] time frame. In fact, when CO2 levels were over ten times higher than they are now, about 450 million years ago, the planet was in the depths of the absolute coldest period in the last half billion years.” Patterson asked the committee, “On the basis of this evidence, how could anyone still believe that the recent relatively small increase in CO2 levels would be the major cause of the past century’s modest warming?”

Patterson concluded his testimony by explaining what his research and “hundreds of other studies” reveal: on all time scales, there is very good correlation between Earth’s temperature and natural celestial phenomena such changes in the brightness of the Sun.

Dr. Boris Winterhalter, former marine researcher at the Geological Survey of Finland and professor in marine geology, University of Helsinki, takes apart Gore’s dramatic display of Antarctic glaciers collapsing into the sea. “The breaking glacier wall is a normally occurring phenomenon which is due to the normal advance of a glacier,” says Winterhalter. “In Antarctica the temperature is low enough to prohibit melting of the ice front, so if the ice is grounded, it has to break off in beautiful ice cascades. If the water is deep enough icebergs will form.”

Interesting. THe press is generally negligent and LAZY in this side of the story also. Some of these people should be frog marched to jail. Until they clean up their profession they will be subject to this ridicule and assessment of being lazy (or with agenda).

  13. Baklava says:

What do they know? They know only what the press says they know…

  14. sanity says:

I posted a bit on Media and Terrorists go Hand-in-Hand

Suprising that the Washington post did an article on it.

“Both the media and terrorists benefit from terrorist incidents,” their study contends. Terrorists get free publicity for themselves and their cause. The media, meanwhile, make money “as reports of terror attacks increase newspaper sales and the number of television viewers.”

If we go after other countries and governments that support Terrorism, can’t we stretch that to the Media also?

    Just a thought.

Senate rejects U.S. troop pullout in Iraq

By LIZ SIDOTI, Associated Press Writer

The Senate rejected a call for the withdrawal of U.S. combat forces from Iraq by year’s end on Thursday as Congress erupted in impassioned, election-year debate over a conflict that now has claimed the lives of 2,500 American troops.

The vote was 93-6 to shelve the proposal, which would have allowed “only forces that are critical to completing the mission of standing up Iraqi security forces” to remain in 2007.

The vote came alongside a daylong debate in the House, where Republicans defended the war as key to winning the global struggle against terrorism while Democrats excoriated President Bush and his policies.

“We must stand firm in our commitment to fight terrorism and the evil it inflicts throughout the world. We must renew our resolve that the actions of evildoers will not dictate American policy,” House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., said in remarks laden with references to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

  17. sanity says:

The vote was 93-6 to shelve the proposal?!?!?!?

What about all those Democrats that call for retreat?

There was only 6 that voted for it?

So how will the democrats spin this now, since most of them voted to shelve it?

  18. NC Cop says:

Come on Sanity! When they start taking heat for it they will claim that they weren’t given all the relevant facts and that Bush lied in the proposal(even though he had nothing to do with it)!!

  19. “The vote was 93-6 to shelve the proposal?!?!?!?”

    - Hmmmmm…. looks like LurchKerry will need to find a comference quickly somewhere, and stock it with Limo Liberals, where he can state that; after all he was actually wrong about being wrong about being wrong about being wrong…..

    - Then three of His Liberal colleges, led by the unsinkable molly Schumer, can follow that act by explaining why they were so outraged about something that never happened, that they felt moved to hold a press conference, and absolutely rile against the outreageousness of that non-event: The rumor that the Iraqi government was offering amnesty to insurgent combatants.

    - More irony dripping from the positions of the willfully ignorant left when you consider that a good many of the insurgents were ex-Hussein Sunni’s. Yep. the very ones that the Libturd Senators were screaming that Bremmer should have included in the main core Iraq government from the beginning.

    - In the mean time, Bush’s numbers have gone back up to 40%, a jump of 8 points in just a week. Must really twist your jockstrap seeing that happen, after 5+ years of back breaking lying, and drive-bye press fabrications, to drive them down in the first place.

    - Sounds more and more like the trumpet of desperation every day from the Left. It may well turn out Hillery will be glad she got booed.

    From CNN:

    Thursday, June 15, 2006; Posted: 6:53 p.m. EDT (22:53 GMT)

In Arizona, fire crews quickly responded to a 120-acre blaze that broke out Wednesday afternoon on the west side of Flagstaff, a city of 60,000 people nestled in a thick pine forest. The blaze was contained Thursday morning, but the threat was enough to evacuate 1,000 homes

Officials credited the quick response of air tankers and extensive forest thinning.

Jim Wheeler, the assistant fire chief in Flagstaff, passed the word to a meeting of evacuees Thursday that all the area’s homes were saved.

“Your neighborhoods are in fantastic shape,” he said to loud applause.

I would like to say that the batty lefters have tried to get in the way of thinning the forest here in my Town of Flagstaff, damn Sierra club.

I would also like to say I told the sister about this happening a while ago and related it to global warming.

Drudge has a story about NC having an earthquake. What happen, somebody deck a visiting Michael Moore?

  26. Interesting … I didn’t know that had happened, nor did I know it’s not the first time this year it had done so in this region.

  27. - And I thought my spelling was bad…. Someone on Grudges staff should get a spell checker…Current headline:

  28. - Even worse the link doesn’t work… which in itself isn’t all that surprising, since any sort of long awaited Democratic agenda, other than cut and run defeatism in Iraq, remains MIA, which makes you wonder if Drudge is just being humorous…. *chuckle*
