As you may have noticed, blogging has been somewhat light this week – had a busy week at the 8-5, and often came home too tired to write anything meaningful about current events.
Got a couple of shopping excursions lined up for today, and then I’ll be seeing Pirates of the Caribbean and hanging with a few friends later in the evening, so I likely won’t be on much, if at all today. Please utilize this thread to discuss what I won’t be around to, and rest assured that I will resume to blogging as normal on Sunday.
Happy weekend ![]()

“Got a couple of shopping excursions lined up for today, and then I’ll be seeing Pirates of the Caribbean…”
I tried to warn you…
- Aww hell ST – Take it easy for a change and enjoy your weekend….Not as if there’s anything exciting going on in the world…. which is to say you have to take your R&R moments when you can because the world never seems to get tired of doing something important… Its always there when you get back, which as my old grandfather used to say, messed up or not, that’s the world’s most endearing characteristic…

Been reading the released documents on the US Army site. (FMSO) Found a pearl regarding a meeting between OBL, Taliban, Afghanistan, and Iraq! Dots, oh dots, where are they?
http://fix4rso.com/2006/07/22/dots-i-dont-see-any-dots/
Take care everyone!
And the MSM is all over this right? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?
Their response is more in line with a bastardization of Shakespeare “Out! OUT! Damned dot!”
The documents that are being translated undermine every, and I mean every argument the libs and Dems use against the war. They blow the no WMD, no Al Queda links, no support for terrorists memes out of the water, which is obviously why the MSM prefers to pay attention to people like Murtha and Sheehan rather than these documents straight from the horses mouth, so to speak.
I liked the new Pirates movie. The first was better; more believable, better story line…this one is more comedic, but it has some interesting twists and turns.
Enjoy it!
Enjoy Pirates. I did and I am not a Johnny Depp fan. I did like the whole Flying Dutchman idea tho. It was cool, but Davy Jones is ugly.

I got a new cat named Patches. Well, new to me but my girls have had it at their mom’s house. It’s been 2 weeks since my best friend passed away and I just want to let everyone know…
MAKE SURE you LET the PEOPLE you care about know how much you appreciate or care about them.
I am relieved that Rennae knew how much she meant to me. We had such a wonderful last 4 years and especially the last month. I am thankful that that was the case. I’d probably have a tougher time than I have been having if it weren’t the case.
Very sorry to hear you lost a close friend Baklava, my condolences. You are absolutely right, spend time with the people you love now, before it’s too late. Nothing’s worse than sitting around blaming yourself for not letting the ones you love know it after it’s too late to do anything about it.
Too often elaborate, expensive funerals are the result of guilt for not doing right by the person when they were alive, and too often unscrupulous funeral directors take advantage of that fact.
To share something “lighter” in honor of your new cat, have you seen this:
And people keep telling me cats are supposed to be smarter than dogs?

Well, that didn’t work too well:

These orders went out from Syrian president Bashar Assad July 20 when Iran’s Revolutionary Guards commander Brig.-Gen Yahya Rahim Safavi (picture) assumed command of the Lebanon war from Hizballah leader Hassan Nasrallah. Tehran’s direct military intervention in the conflict was accompanied by an Iranian weapons airlift which began landing Wednesday, July 19, at the Abu Ad Duhur military airfield north of Homs. The deliveries include large quantities of new missiles, including the long-range Zelzal and Fajr 3 and Fajr 5 missiles, Katyusha rockets, anti-tank and anti-air missiles sent out from RG HQ in Bandar Abbas on the Persian Gulf.
Assad acted on the assumption that Israel, whose air force and ground forces are already hammering the cross-border supply routes north of the Litani River to block the passage of Iranian hardware to Hizballah, will soon decide to go for Iranian military operations in Damascus and Abu Ad Duhur.
Go read the whole thing, this will not be controlable or stopable until we realize that Syria and Iran need to be slapped down hard, and suffer significant casualties and damage. It’s past time we stopped pussyfooting around with these rogue states, and realize that we will have to fight a war with them, no other approach will work.
Baklava, sorry to hear of your loss. By all means we should tell those we care for that we do care for them! And not simply because they may pass on before we get the chance. What better expression is there than Love, eh?
Love and caring.
Baklava: Though we are no consolation for your friend, you still have us and we you.
For you and yours from us.

My sympathies, Baklava.
Big Bang, you have been immortalized! Your comment:
Wonder Bread? That stuff could take a hit from a Katyusha rocket, dust itself off, and go play a beer league double header without so much as a changing its shorts.
Wonder bread – F’ Yeahhhh!
(Nuke them with bleached bread from orbit…. It’s the only way to be sure…)

Sorry to hear of you loss but they will have good company up in Heaven, my Mom will watch over your loved one.

Can we start up a diagloge on Iraq, after what thier PM say I’m getting antsy to pull out and let em kill each other off and then we evac the civilians who are innocent and carpet bomb the entire city and leave saddam in his cell, still fasting I hope.
Also, someone in the military, plz answer me this — why doesn’t the Isreal planes carpet bomb the border like we did in Afganastan looking for coward ass binladen? Seems like that would take out the bombs in the bunkers – but alas, I am a dumb broad I guess.
Sorry to hear about your loss Bak. It is a hard thing to lose a friend. Keep those memories close, they will see you thru. – Lorica
Three reasons why Israel is not carpet bombing:
1 – It would generate massive civilian casualties
2 – It wouldn’t be that effective, the armaments and Hezbollah strong points are usually in hardened bunkers they’ve had the opportunity to build over the past years of Lebanese complicity by ignoring them. You can bomb the crap out of such country and they pop up like rats coming out of the woodwork afterwards.
3 – It’s hard to carpet bomb when all you have are fighter-bombers like F-16′s. Israel doesn’t have any heavy bombers, one B52 can carry more bombs than 8 or 10 F-16′s can.
Thanks Sev for the explanation but I was told or heard that the rats have alot of missle launchers up in the hills and they are firing from there and as the media reports most of the civilians are hightailing it out of there. I did not see too many houses or structures up there, but I could be wrong, but Isreal has got to keep hittin em hard and they have used some big bombs trying to go underground to hit them in their bunkers in the city. Just thought it may help to hit em on the hills.

Bang: Good round-up! Sadly, though, once again we preach to the choir! The MSM needs to get their collective head outa their collective ass and publish this stuff on the front pages!
Also, for websites to show support of Israel, try checking out JackLewis.Net for a nice corner banner. I got mine!
