About that leaked NIE ‘report’
Malkin’s got all the details, including a report that the WH is considering completely declassifying the NIE report in order to set the record straight on the select details that were leaked to the press yesterday.
Isn’t it a shame in this country that in a time of war, the MSM and their Democrat pals work so hard to undermine that war with illegal leaks to the point that the WH feels it has to declassify items that really should remain classified for national security concerns in order to refute the leakers? Pathetic.
Update I: The rightie blogosphere is all over this. Good! I’ve got some readin’ to do.
Update II: MSNBC is reporting that Bush has ordered the entire NIE report declassified. Kim Priestap at Wizbang links up to Fox’s story about the President’s decision.

Update VII: Just got done reading it. Whoever leaked the intial info to the press was likely deliberately misleading the press. Here are what is fueling jihad:

Will we see a re-write or correction on the MSM’s initial conclusions? Doubt it.

Michelle really nailed it on that piece! I always wondered how these estimates determined what drove some of these people to terrorism. How do we not know that it wasn’t the war in Afghanistan? Very interesting that the study begins in 2001, instead of 2003 which is when the Iraq war actually started.
It’s really a shame what some people will do just to get some power.
Regarding the recent leaked info on the NIE, Iraq, and the War on Terror:
You know, common sense in not all that common in the MSM and Liberal Wonderland. If you fight a determined enemy, like the Zombie Islamists, guess what? They are going to fight back. These people are determined to reinstate the Caliphate, but worldwide. They have no interest in diplomacy, other than to use it as a ruse to allow more time to grow in number and strength.
It is amazing to see the brainwashed elite clamoring to bash Bush when the Islamists are worst than anyone’s worst nightmare. They manifested their declaration of Global Jihad very effectively on September 11, 2001. There indeed is a war on terror. Unfortunately, we kept ignoring the little kitten biting our ankle throughout the 70′s, 80′s, and 90′s. Now that kitten is a lion. The lion is killing, bullying, and terrorizing worldwide. To say that this is not the case, that the War on Terror is about trading US blood for oil is naive.
This report being hailed by the MSM and Liberal Wonderland at-large is a great example of the stupor they are in. Their lust for power completely blinds them to the reality of the foe that we face. I think when the beheadings start in a western nation, they might just realize we are at war with Islam.

If you haven’t followed the Update V link above on President Karzai’s remarks, by all means do it! It’s a must-see, especially the last two minutes ST highlighted. When you watch that part, take a good look at his face. He seems absolutely mystified that the lib “journalist” has no clue what motivates the terrorists. It’s like he’s telling a five-year old why they shouldn’t play in traffic:

I’ve watched that clip several times today. VERY inspiring.
I think it’s priceless that the dems held this report over their head a few days ago never expecting that Bush would declassify the report. Then they declassify it and it shows how they were “cherry picking” from the report. It’s obvious that the reasons for the increase in terrorism is the deep seeded hatred and mistrust of the West, that has been going on for decades. Iraq is but a small part of a much larger picture.
So NOW can we get down to the business of defeating them?
WOW. Karzai has more common sense on this matter than ANY Democrat I’ve heard in the last 5 years.

1. A bill to cut and run from the war on terror, but with a guarantee with their lives that the US will not suffer any more attacks were Americans are killed. Thus, if Al Queda bombs another ship, plane or anything else in the world were Americans were the target, the representatives, senators, the President signing the bill, their advisors and staffs would be subject to be killed without legal sanction on their killers. Call it a modern day application of the Code of Hamurabi or Robert Heinlein’s “Balancing”.
We can say it until we’re blue in the face, Sis. They won’t hear or believe. They can’t because that would mean that they are wrong. And that will never do, will it?
