I am running for the Mecklenburg County Commissioners,
District Four[East Charlotte].my website has my profile and position listed on it.My motto for my campaign is Representation-Less Taxation, I got involved with local politics back in 2001, I ran last year in the same district for the school board, got 18% of votes out of a low turnout of 17%, sometime losing is winning, Our boards are dominated and controlled by democratic liberals who know nothing but
tax and spend politics, waste is one of their virtues.
Our schools and test scores, overcrowding, jails, crime, roads need to be repaved[Priority Spending]and
they spend money for the arts, nascar, ball parks, and church property, light rail, arena. I would say somebody has to take a stand for our taxpayors and voters and make Charlotte Mecklenburg a first class
city instead of a world class city. Homeowners have beared the brunt of additional taxes, now we have to go after entertainment, recreation, impact fees on builders, they go up on homes anyway every six months or so anyway, so what they pass it on to the consumer.
I find most taxpayors would be glad to pay extra, IF it goes for schools and not some other capital project
that should be on a refferendum for the taxpayors to vote for. End of Soap-box speech !

Hey, we've got two interesting Congressional races - the 8th and the 11th. I live in the 8th and the incubment - Robin Hayes - needs all the help he can get. Stop by the HQ and put a sign in your yard or something - seriously...we can't have a favorite of the Nutroots (Larry Kissell) representing the 8th.

Living just north of ST in Cabarrus County - I've been running a Q&A of the local candidates for County Commissioner and posting the responses on my blog - The View From the Cheap Seats - for the 1 or 2 of you who may be interested.

Thanks for the links. This will be my first year voting in Wake county (had been voting in Cumberland) and the first year I'm not voting absentee in a long time. Here's hoping conservatives turn out in droves!

O/T: The 14 Oct edition of the Raleigh N&O has an interesting assessment of NC's level of power in National politics. The paper is unabashedly left-leaning but the article is still worth a read.
