Last Year at this time I was on TV making my GrandMa's turkey recipe. :) I know my way around a kitchen very well, but usually I go to my Sister's house and hang with her family for Thanksgiving and Christmas. She makes a traditional turkey which is so ho hum, but at least I don't have do to the clean up. My GrandMa's turkey now that is a masterpiece to be marveled at. Basically you take apple pie filling and you put over the turkey and bake it. YUM!!! I have never seen leftovers last more than a day. I love Thanksgiving and Christmas. The smells emminating from the kitchen, the family get togethers. Ohhhh what fun!!!! I have been listening to Chirstmas songs for a month. I love that Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Also this Highland Christmas CD I have is wonderful to listen too.

Also Bang, I am still fantazing about our Dear Hostess saying get busy ya'll. Ohhhh la la. I would be in heaven watching Sis working in my kitchen. OMG Heaven!!!!! I could see myself sitting at the breakfast bar and watching her move about and do things, big smile on her face. Football on the TV behind me, turkey being cooked along with pumpkin pie and sweet potatos. Me watching, my eyeballs about to pop outta my head. =)) Ok maybe alittle to graphic. - Lorica

- Well FOX just did an update on the 6 Muslim "clerics" taken off the plane in Minnissota. Seems they were doing prayers in the waiting are in English, and Arabic, and a lady nearvy got nervous when they said what she interpreted as a few anit-American comments. Later when they boarded, they split up into pairs, trying to sit in unassigned seats, and displying other "questionable" behavior, finally refusingto leave when asked by flight attendents. Intersetingly enough, today a spokesman for CAIR, a thinly desguised Jihadist backed group here in America, co-founded by one of the originators of Hamas, popped right up on cue "demanding" investigations into the denial of rights for the six men. Question is, with that tight a timing, and the actions of the "clerics", was this whole thing staged. Remember, the Wahhabists want nothing less than to hobble the Airlines/US gov. to set the stage for another 9/11 type attack.

- Cair no doubt, knows what its doing, and the chances its taking. I doubt many on the hard Left realize what they're setting themselves up for if another attack does indeed occur, and its directly the result of their undermining of law enforcement tools in the WOT.

- With ST as a "helper", I'm not sure I wouldn't fringe the gobblers pin feathers, just from the "distractions", but I'm good to go in the kitchen, so I'm sure it would work out. :d

- Incidently ST, if the pies are sort of more crumbly than normal, spoon portions into custard bowls, garnish with KoolWhip, and Viola!, deep dish apple cobbler! Have to be a little "creative" sometimes. ;)

I know my way around a kitchen reasonably well, so I guess I'm more in the cook category. It really depends where we have T-giving or Xmas dinner. If it's here, I run the show. Otherwise, I'm fine with doing whatever's needed.

T-giving is just the start of Eating Season, though. Next comes making all the Christmas cookies - always have to come up with one new recipe or variation a year. Lots of work, but well worth it. :)

I'm in the helper category even though I have decent skills. I just submit to the bossy dominant types who rear their bossy heads at T-giving and take over and control.

On the rare occassion that there are none of those types around, there is less variety of food and less "presentation", so I do appreciate those types to some extent!
