Friday open thread

You have to check out the following video of a home that has lights synchronized to various Christmas songs – it’s amazing!

Can you imagine being this guy’s next door neighbor, though? LOL!

Update: OMG – check THIS one out, done to Wizards of Winter by Trans Siberian Orchestra (Hat tip: chard in the comment section):

Now that one would drive me nuts!

Sat Update: Hi ya’ll – had a super busy day today getting some last minute things done before Christmas. I returned this evening to a ton of spam, and made the mistake of deleting all comments in moderation before checking to see if some were legit, so if you attemped to post something and it didn’t show up, my apologies as it’s likely my fault.

Be back to blogging Sunday.

Ok, if these are legit and not doctored in any way, one’s heart (alone) would have to go with Frankie because, well, … it’s Frankie!

Otherwise, vid #2 is beyond cool. The only thing I’d have added would’ve been some Penguin Lawn Stakes (easily procured at your local WalMart) all along the property front line, and timed thusly.

Btw, wish me luck as I leave WalMart behind and join the honored ranks of car salesmen next week. As for those who insist on knocking WalMart, you’re knuckleheads who have no clue how your country actually works. Hard-working people who choose jobs in an entry-level retail outlet of their own free will, with no illusions of get-rich-quick, some staying far longer than the unions would obviously prefer… I’ll miss them. Ok, most of them.

God bless America, and Merry Christmas.

      geezer,

The second one is definitely real. It’s the creation of an electrical engineer in Ohio. He actually had to limit the hours he had his lights on due to traffic congestion and at least one accident from people watching them.

The story is on Snopes, including an interview.

      Ehhh…

Geezer, my wife has worked at Wal-Mart for 16 years. She is leaving ASAP (interviewing now) because of the recent down turns that they have made, especially in the treatment of their employees. many of those “staying far longer than the unions would obviously prefer” are being driven out in various ways.

It is sad- Wal-mart was once a decent company. Sam Walton is probably rotating in this grave.

    5. geezer says:

Thanks, GWR, which sounds a lot like GWAR, which dates more than a few of us…

TedintheShed: over the last 20 mos., I’ve told every kid under 25–get the hell outta WalMart, join the military or something, grab the world by the throat and move on.

For everyone else, I kept my mouth shut until they gave me an opening (AF 1st Sgt training, mind you) to point out their strengths, opportunities, any little thing… then gently nudged them to consider alternatives. As I said before, WalMart is entry-level, and a good one at that. There comes a time in your plan to move on, and good luck to your wife in her quest for what’s right for her. And a darned-good Merry Christmas, at that!

HGTV is showing their seasonal Christmas decorated house segements and some of those folks have power bills that are so over the top they charge admission for folks to drive thru, and the folks pay to see it.
They love the lights and stuff and I’ll admit it, I do too. Some of the decoraters go a little overboard, but hey, its Christmas and if it makes em happy and others happy I don’t see a problem.
I hate to be a Wal-Mart defender but I’m headed there now, they have the lowest prices for groceries and other stuff I need and I’m on a very tight budget so I go — please don’t hate me guys.

Ok, here is a video that you better not be drinking anything while watching because it is what we wish would be said to these liberal nutcases in the media.

Read first off at Newsbusters where Partridge Family Star Danny Bonaduce completely tears aparts (verbally) a left-wing whacko who interupts him for an interview while he is in the middle of eating.

I loved it when he turned to the lady sitting next to him and apologized for what he was about to say, then rips into this liberal idiot.

Can we vote for him for President? =))

Seems not everyone in Hollywood is a comeplete idiot, and its nice to know he doesn’t pander to the camera and spoke his mind, well more like gave a piece of his mind, to this idiot liberal.

Watch it – It is worth your time.

OK, Sister Toldjah readers: our beautiful blogmistress received barely more than 500 votes for top blog in her category (and seven of those votes came from me!); where were the rest of y’all?

    9. Marshall Art says:

Sanity, that was the most awesome link I’ve viewed in quite some time! Bonaduce, for all his faults, has nailed it in a supremely cool way to an absolute moonbat and I wish I was there to cheer him on, not that he would have needed it.

      Dana,
I, too, voted several times. I’m sure most of her reglar visitors did as well. At least I hope so. Her competition was tough, however. But she’s tops in my book. (Not that I really have a “book”, so to speak. More of a mental book, really, a book of the mind, as it were, wherein, Sis is indeed, tops.)

    10. Dana says:

Sis, I use the Akismet anti-Spam® plug-in, and it works pretty well to separate out true Spam® from comments that should just hit the moderation queue. Out of over 16,000 spams caught, Akismet has nabbed a legitimate comment only a couple of times.

It works well enough that I disabled the captcha feature!

    11. Tom TB says:

Sanity, thanks for the link! I don’t know what Bonaduce is up to these days, but I’ll support him. The lefty-looney-tune conspiracist said that the Skull&Bones Society were into all manner of mischief, yet neglected to say that Bush’s ’04 opponent preceded
his membership by 2 years, so for whom did this Bush-basher vote?
