In April of 1985, John Kerry was joined by Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) for a visit with Daniel Ortega in Managua, Nicaragua. Of this trip John Kerry said "Senator Harkin and I are going to Nicaragua as Vietnam-era veterans who are alarmed that the Reagan administration is repeating the mistakes we made in Vietnam." The mistake was his it turned out, for shortly after Ortega went to the Moscow and announced an alliance with the Soviets. More of the same. It's becoming increasingly clear that in the 1980's Ted Kennedy made multiple overtures to the Soviets seeking to undermine President Reagan, and seek help for his own presidential ambitions. The more I read about this, the more I think Kennedy should be investigated for treason. What is truly infuriating is to realize what a long sordid tradition this has been for the Democrats.
