Unhinged protesters in DC throw things at Karl Rove and his car after speech (MORE: HUFFPO COMMENTERS CALL FOR ROVE’S MURDER)

Now this is a mature way to express your dissent:

WASHINGTON — White House Advisor Karl Rove was the target of a protest on the American University campus Tuesday night, NBC 4 reported.

Rove was on the campus to talk to the College Republicans, but when he got outside more than a dozen students began throwing things at him and at his car, an American University spokesperson said.

The students then got on the ground and laid down in front of his car as a protest.

The students said security officials picked them up and carried them away so Rove could leave.

You can view the video here.

Update: The WaPo reports that the students wanted to make a ‘citizen’s arrest’ of Karl Rove. LOL.

PM Update: Patterico notes that some HuffPo commenters are calling for Karl Rove’s murder. This is more than merely unhinged …

I found this to be a retarded statement made in the article:

Police said they have dealt with a lot of protests on campus and this one was handled peacefully.

Now are they talking about how the police dealt with the protestors….or are they saying the protestors were peaceful.

…because if it is aboutthe protestors being peaceful…

when he [Rove] got outside more than a dozen students began throwing things at him and at his car..

    and…

    No one was arrested.

No one was arrested for assault and damage of property?

Correct me if I am wrong but if you hurl something at someone and hit them, does that not constitute an assault – and if they are hurling objects at his car, I am sure damage gets done.

How is it no one gets arrested for this? Just because you are in a protest does not give you the right to break the law under it being a protest.

Now granted, the witness only says they began throwing things AT him and his car, they don’t say he was struck – but I assume that if group of people are throwing things at you, they intended to hit you and probably will.

Wierd thing is, I think the person hated more than President Bush by these loons would be Karl Rove.

I am certain that any damage done to Rove’s car will be paid for by the University. =)) – Lorica

Did Rove’s car not have an accelerator? Is so, why wasn’t it floored? Heck, that train didn’t stop when the moonbat lay across it and he lost his legs. Why not bruise a few moonbat “students” when they break the law?

    Sheesh!

Reminds me of the ending of that wonderfully bad Roger Corman film, “Death Race 2000.” David Carradine, the racer, had been elected president, and had permanently canceled the death race (where you scored points for running over people, awarded depending on age, sex, race, etc.). He and his wife were getting ready to drive away after announcing this, and the idiot reporter was standing in front of the car whining about how he couldn’t cancel the race, that was what everyone watched, etc. on and on. Carradine’s wife says “Do we have to listen to this Frank?” (his character’s name was Frankenstein), to which he replied “No” and floored it, running down the reporter and driving off into the sunset…;)

As far as I know the act of throwing something at someone constitutes an assault in and of itself. Whether the person is hit by the object is not relevant. Each state is different but I know that’s how it is in NC. It’s kind of like if you shoot at someone and miss them. It’s still considered assault with a deadly weapon.

Sev, I loved Death Race 2000. This was Sly Stallone’s early film. Remember, Sly was Joe Proturbo? Remember how Joe raked the crowd with machine gun fire from a Thompson?

Oh, bonus points!!! The Seattle PD had the doin operated video game of this in their squad room and had to get rid of it when Joe Tofueater found out about it.

  10. Severian says:

Yeah PCD, I remember Stallone in that, it was a hoot. Remember “Well, it’s euthanasia day at the local geriatrics hospital!” and “A grenade? A hand grenade.”:d
