I believe that it was Robert A. Heinlein who wrote that an armed society is a polite society.

Which would explain the unparalleled meanness (and violence) of “gun-free” cities and colleges in the US.

I wonder – if this story turns out to be true should the MSM refer to the gunman as a terrorist, criminal, or “insurgent”? Likewise – do the mass-murderers at Columbine and Virginia Tech get to be “insurgent” as well.

Or do “insurgents” exist only in Iraq?
