Seems like Russell is feeling some pressure after appearing on Oprah. We've been talking about this over at Highbrid Nation. If you ask me though, artists should be able to say whatever they want. Its up to the retail outlets to not sell albums marked with parental advisory logos. Its up to the radio stations to not play music with such offensive lyrics. Trust me if everyone in between stops supporting the artists with those lyrics than the artist will likely change thier lyrics. Simple cause and effect.

Hip Hop is just full of corruption. This is a band-aide on a gushing wound. I just heard about something called "Stop the Snitchin'". So rappers and others, want regular folk to stop informing the police when a crime has been committed. That is such BS.

Drewsmom-- "That Buddy Holly, that Chuck Berry, so much noise, back in the day we had REAL music--Glenn Miller! Cole Porter! Benny Goodman! It's a terrible shame the way kids can't recognize what's good!"

When today's kids are parents, they'll be longing for the good old days of...whoever's popular right now. I can't listen to anything released after 1996.

Back to the topic at hand, I look forward to a) learning the new euphemisms for "ho" and b) the angry reaction from the feminists who use "bitch" as a positive term of female empowerment. Nyuk nyuk nyuk.

hmm. 1 billion big macs and a single diet coke.

Simmons sold/produced/financed/promoted billions of dollars of sales of songs filled with the three words he wants to ban. Clearly these 3 words were neither more nor less evil now then when Simmons started his career

Will Simmons be donating the fraction of his fortune built on these words?

The answer is a resounding: No! This moral whitewashing in the worst. A man who makes his fortune drawing children into the worship of drugs, gangs, and violent sexism, thus reaping sorrow throughout ghettos, then turns vegetarian, meditates, and makes claims about the evil of 3 words while he is still earning money from them.

Nothing will be done about the rappers and the vile lyrics they are spewing out cuz of all the money being made by the big men.
I just don't understand why Any kid whould listen to this crap. Don't they know good music when they hear it anymore. Back in the dark ages we had the Eagles,
Van Morrison and when we go back further Temptations, Mary Wells, James Brown, now that was good music worth listening to. Rap just gives you a vulgar headache, I just don't understand the appeal.:-?
