I agree, it's a terrific article, and from all appearances these examples are not the exception but the rule. Our troops are well-trained, brave, disciplined patriots, and even hardened leftist reporters can see that when exposed to it on a daily basis.

There are only two things that could keep you from seeing that reality: an ego as big as John Kerry's, or a brain as small as Michael Moore's.

Unfortunately, these reporters are swimming against the tide. They're far outnumbered by the rest of the MSM swill, and one wonders if eventually they'll get prodded back into line by peer pressure. Let's hope not.

<blockquote>"Absolutely amazing" said David Beriain, the reporter (and the one who spoke English), said of the young Cavalry troops. "In Spain, it is embarrassing–our soldiers are ashamed to be in the army. These young men–and they seem so young!–are so proud of what they do, and do it so well, even though it is dangerous and they could very easily be killed."</blockquote>

God Bless Our Troops, Doin the work the leftie leadership refuse to do. =d> Our Troops Are Awesome!!! They continue to prove just how wrong so many are about them and about the mission. Including one guy inparticular who pays way too much for haircuts. - Lorica

It's always interesting to watch people when reality bumps up hard against their preconceptions isn't it? I guess like the saying there are no atheists in foxholes, there aren't many troop haters either. After going through danger and deprivation with the GIs, and seeing the quality of the men and women in uniform, it appears that ones prejudices tend to get erased. The reporters who had been under fire with the GIs wrote some amazing things about their experiences, it's good to see that people can learn and grow from their experiences and that they appreciate the quality of the men and women in uniform.

Fantastic article!! I couldn't agree more. Those men and women are the best this country has to offer.
It's usually quite obvious, by the writing, which journalists have spent time in Iraq with the troops and those who have never set foot in the country and write from the safety and security of their desk.
