PCD says: <em>Many of those computer millionaires turned to be liberal jerks that moved to Oregon and Washington State to screw up those states.
</em>

So true. It's part of the classical pattern of libs. They vote in their people, who promptly lurch state or local government far to the left. Eventually, this destroys the community, what with higher taxes, failed schools, increasing numbers of people looking for the newly-created handouts, etc., and many of these same libs reach the point where they realize things are bad and move out. So they go someplace where those problems haven't set in yet. Unfortunately, they never figure out that their policies created the problems in the first place, so they vote in yet another set of leftists, and the cycle repeats.

I've seen it here in NJ. When I was younger, this state was a fairly balanced place - Dems won sometimes, GOP sometimes, and the real loons were confined to a few places like Newark or Camden or Trenton. Then we got an influx of people like tommy from nyc and similar places. And now this state is going the same way - taxes through the roof, political correctness running amok, and every type of free-range moonbat species gets elected in most of the state (I'm in one of the few remaining sane areas).

Another example: New Hampshire's becoming more and more of a "blue" state due to influx of people from Massachusetts fleeing the mess they've made there. One of my best friends used to live in Nashua, and hated seeing all the "Mass-holes", they call them, moving in and screwing up their town.

It would be one thing if libs only fouled their own nests. But they never get a clue that they also spread it around.

9, there is provisions in the California State Constitution to split the state up into multiple smaller states. I always thought spliting Los Angeles County and the Bay Area off into a separate state would work. Call it the Welfare State.=))=))

:-ss:-ss:-ss Well I hope for obvious reasons why that youse guys electoral college changes fail in California. But it is that type of discussion that is good for this nation as a whole. Teaching civic resoponsibilty in all of our schools for example would bebefit society as a whole and get more citizens involved in how our government is being run at all levels would be more benefical than our current system right now. Remember it takes a village=))...... Don't misinteprate that as an endoresment It's still early.

I believe California has 36 million plus people right now, and an expected population of 50 million by 2020. So yes, there is a good argument for splitting up it's electoral votes.

I would expect a few other states to follow the trend should this happen. Not sure who that would benefit, but I know splitting California's electoral vote would benefit the republicans, as there are definitely large pockets of the state that vote republican.

There are 55 electoral votes in California, followed by 34 in Texas, 31 in New York, and 27 in Florida.

This is exactly why I won't vote Dem again. I have heard some say they vote the man, and not the party. Until the Dem party sheds this horrible, horrible leadership and moves back to the center, I will never vote for another Dem. The nutroots were only encouraged by these idiots running for President because all of them went to the idiotic Kos event. Now they are emboldened, and are trying to get rid of the more conservative members in the party. And they wonder why there are so many former Dems in the Republican Party. - Lorica

- In a related subject, the movement out here in Cal to change the Electoral college vote block approach to Presidential candidates in the election, from majority takes all to district by district, the Left is starting to vibrate like a Niagra vibra-Lounger,

- Of course they have no problem with the two states that already use this approach, Vermont and Nebraska, which are "safe" blue states. When asked about that obvious bigotry, they are reduced to the usual fast nattering verbal tap dance.

- The conservative voting groups behind the plan have already begun the gathering of the 400,000 signitures needed to get the measure on the ballot in time for the upcoming elections. No difficulty is anticipated, and the SecProggs are in full flight panic.

- Aside from definately losing California, the worse specter for the moonbats is the domino effect that may occur, once the tsunomi gets started, with state after state following suit.

- Such a change has been described as the Mt. Saint Helens of the American political process, wherein the majority would actually rule for a change. Already in the minority by a sizable difference, such a change might mean the "progressives", and their influence on the Dem party would br relagated to the dust bins of political history.

- Personally I don't blame them for being panicky. But an interesting effect would be the reduction of political influence of both extremes, not just the Left, but the extreme Right as well, and would pull the teeth of powerful special interest groups and their lobbyists, groups that depend on delivering state block votes for the source of their Political clout.

- All of which which couldn't be anything but good in this age of severely polorized polity. California might yet prove itself a usefull citizen, and live down the embarrassment of the San Francisco cultists enclaves.

tommy wrote, "<em>I wonder how many of each party would show up.</em>"

Probably over 95% of congressmen if the situation was brought up by the right person in the right situation. Currently it's not something "on the table" just because tommy in a blog said it.

That said, I don't agree that the 95% of Congressmen should do this even though they probably will. It's symbolism over substance and will cost us taxpayer dollars to have them all fly to PA and say some words.

There is only one way forward in my view - Ward Connerly prescribes the solutions I agree with for the future. He's been studying and working in this field for far longer and has great perspective.

Just a little old memory here. Many years ago, Earl Pomeroy's nephew called Rush Limbaugh to ask for help since his family was so brain dead Liberal. His parents were so dysfunctional that they could not even program the VCR enough to stop it from flashing 12:00.

Earl has been no bright light either. He's one donkey that I would love the GOP to help the nutroots replace, but with a conservative.

You know ST I just had the most interesting idea just come to mind. I'm curious about your opinion on it. If both Republicans and Democrats who are elected members of Congress could meet at Gettysburg for a Confederate flag burning celebration. I wonder how many of each party would show up. After all the Stars and Bars is a symbol of oppersion wouldn't you agree. And if you do agree would you go to an event like that in person. Just curious. After all this nation is about freedom right?
