Actually I think that the NYT engages in First Amendment Idolatry, as do most journos.

They seem themselves as priests in the holy order of the first amendment.

The founding fathers were light years ahead of everyone else in the world when it came to governements, what they are for and how they should operate along with the concept of individual rights.

and they still ahead of everyone else on these topics.

Due to the Constitutions Supremacy Clause, all other law can only be enforced if it aligns with it. If it doesn’t it is considered un-Constitutional. I do find if funny that so many on the left, including certain posters here, believe that “the pursuit of Happiness” is found in the Constitution. I also think that the NYT should have it’s freedoms suspended just like they wish to suspend the rights of private gun owners each and everyday. They are a PoS rag mouth piece for the liberal left and their constant tush kissin’ really is annoying. – Lorica

The NYT has been losing membership subscriptions for years.

I never have registered online even to read the rest of a column from their newspaper.

I have better stuff to read than to be wasting my time with NYT.

Lately I have noticed that more gun control dialog has been creeping into the news. Jesse Jackson had one in the Chicago Sun Times this week.

It’s my feeling that the democrat party is feeling a bit smug lately and have begun to slowly roll out their long hidden agenda. Gun control has been one issue they have been very careful to avoid in the past eight years.

Going after Bush is getting old and their followers need some freah red meat. I predict more anti-second ammendment pablum to spew forth.

When Howell Raines was the editorial page editor, I used to write what I thought he would write about “gun control”, and I came close to word for word. No one in their right mind will advertise that they live in a “gun-free zone”, and that includes Rosie O’Donnell, Michael Bloomberg, and anyone else that has private security, but wants to deny it to us.
