  1. Big Bang Hunter says:

    - I talked to a prominent lawyer about this, and heres what he told me.

    - In order to sue successfully for defemation, you have to:

    1} Prove you have a celebrity to lose, or some tangible lose of any worth.
    2) Prove the statements were innaccurate AND done with malice aforethought.

    - If those weren’t hills enough, all the defense would need to do is ask for a summary dismissal on the grounds that whatever possible offense occured, if any, Imus was punished far in excess of the crime when he lost a 40 million dollar job. No sane judge would find against him at that point.

    - They dropped it because they would just end up losing, and they can’t mine it for any more race baiting PR. It wasn’t sanity, it was realism.

    - Al sharpton isn’t going to be happy about this. One of the ambulances he was chasing has turned up with four flat tires.

    - BBH – **==

    Poor al, another race baiter hits the skids, I’m so unhappy, NOT, for him, and the lady basketball players did the right thing, makes THEM look better.

    YES!!! I prevailed!!

    Ummm…what did I do again?

    [chuckles]

    The other side of this is that her claim is that Imus implied that she is an unchaste woman, and that’s a lie.

    How does one go about defending himself when he’s accused of lying about her being a ho’? Hmmm? :)
