Of course, Clinton isn’t president anymore, so he doesn’t have to pander to the base like he used to, but I really don’t believe his response would have been all that different had he been running for office or still in the WH. John Edwards, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to know when to stop pandering to the base. In fact, I don’t even think he wants to.

ST, you are too easily driven crazy by John Edwards. There are days, my dear, when I fear Edwards is to you what ferrets are to Rudy.

Edwards’s base, such as it is, and whatever it is, is surely not the collection of limp wankers who have the nerve to call themselves “Truthers.” And anyway, as I may have said back at the time Edwards was confronted (and if I didn’t I should have), it seems clear at least to me that he had no idea what the Limp Wankers were talking about.

But anyway three rousing cheers for Bill Clinton. He was perfect in his response.
