I think Hillary is not a liberal because she hasn’t renounced her vote authorizing the war. That’s the new litmus test. Just as Christopher Hitchens is still a Trotskyite (or whatever) but he’s been thrown off the lefty express.

So Hillary is now, I suppose, a right winger. You know, like the right wingers in Russia and Eastern Europe who think pretty much like Teddy Kennedy does? So let’s call her a Soviet Bloc Conservative.

Oh, I'm sure they know that Hillary is a liberal to the core - what they're complaining about is that she got the favorable audience/questions that the other candidates wish they had had. If this isn't hardcore liberalism, I don't know what is.

Remember too, "Maria" was a willing participant in the hoax. Given the chance for her "fifteen minutes of fame" or remaining in obscurity, she opted to be "on TV" and ask a softball question. Posing an honest question to Hillary on live TV wasn't an option.
