The 49ers and the Cats are my two favorite teams in the NFL. There’s no question, though, as to which team I’m going to root for today. The question is who is going to win, because they both stink.
SF is sitting on a 3-8 record, while Carolina rests uncomfortably at 4-7 and is eager for a win. We are, BTW, winless at home this season but hopefully that will change today.
The 1pm game will be broadcast on Fox.
In other NFL news, all eyes will be on the Redskins today as they take the (home) field versus the Buffalo Bills. This will be the ‘skins first game since the murder of safety Sean Taylor last Monday.
Update: The Panthers finally win a game at home this year – 31-14. ST reader NC Cop, who was in attendance today, must have been our good luck charm ![]()

I take full credit for the early 17-0 Panther lead because I’ve applied my usual Packers’ method of guaranteeing victory (bet the other way) to this game
Anyone coming to Soccer World Cup 2010?

I was at the Panthers game!! WOO HOO!!!!
I would like to take full credit for their FIRST home win this season.
Thank you, thank you very much!!
I see your Giants just won a comeback victory against the Bears. Congrats, NC!
Thank you, NC. Thanks to that Giants win, as well as the Minnesota win, the Green Bay Packers are the 2007 NFC North champions.
Oops; not quite. Transposed Detroit’s and Minnesota’s division records; Detroit would hold a 2-way tiebreaker with us.
Hey all you NBA fans out there…..did Navy Bop Army…..again?
Well, not everybody’s eyes were on the Redskins — because every channel here carried the Beagles.
But my Oakland Raiders beat the denver Broncos 34-20.
Indeed! It was an ugly win, but a win nonetheless. Manning looked like a quarterback in the final 10 minutes of the game and I guess it was enough.
Panther game was great! After S.F. scored twice and it was 17-14, I thought the cats were gonna blow it again, but they really seemed to come alive. It was a great game to be in attendance for!
Dana,
Next week the Packers are going to dismantle your Raiders to claim a spot in the playoffs as the NFC North Champions with the win.
