NYT debunks negative story on Rudy?

Wonders never will cease! Essentially, the NYT has debunked its own sensationalism. Wouldn’t it have been nice for them to do a little research beforehand, though? Yeah, I know – it’s the NYT, and asking them to factcheck prior to publishing something is simply asking too much.

The next question is: Why didn’t they place this story where it’d be seen by the more people, like they did when they made the accusations about expenses related to his then-mistress-now-wife Judith in the first place, rather than where they placed it yesterday, which was on the “Multimedia” page (h/t: Byron York) and why not acknowledge their role in promoting this story? Maybe they were hoping people were ignorant enough to forget how much coverage they and other media outlets devoted to this “scandal”?
