GB at Chicago (UPDATE: PACKERS LOSE 35-7)

Posted by: ST on December 23, 2007 at 1:07 pm

I know this game is important to Packers and Cowboys fans alike, and since I have several readers who are fans of one or the other, I’m starting an open thread for this game for comments :) Please utilize the Saturday open thread to post links on other topics.

Update: The Bears played the role of spoiler today, slapping the Pack down 35-7, which means the Cowboys will have the homefield playoff advantage.

Look like no Lambeau in January….

  2. Mwalimu Daudi says:

BTW, ST – The Cowboys are 7-0 versus the Kittens during the regular season.

But your Cats are 2-0 against the Pokes during the playoffs. Go figure.

  3. Ryan says:

A win tonight vs Washington and the Vikings are in. Amazing. The NFC is just going to be fodder for the AFC this year.

  4. Ryan says:

    Go Vikes! btw :)

  5. Ryan says:

Ugh, Keith Olbermann.. just turned the channel for a bit.

  6. Ryan says:

I’m just gonna talk to myself here.

At some point Tarvaris Jackson needs to give up the high school QB mentality of just throwing the ball up for grabs when the going gets tough.

  7. Ok, well go Minnesota! :)

  8. Ryan says:

This is a terrible game. With so much to play for, the Vikings are laying a complete egg. I’m upset.

  9. Be happy, Ryan. At least you’re rooting for a team with a chance.

  10. Ryan says:

Well, barring something huge happening, the playoffs are a long shot at this point. Dallas @ Washington next week (without TO and with nothing to play for).

Teams have figured the Vikings out – put 8 in the box and force 3rd & 5+. Then all you have to worry about is a high school QB beating you.

  11. Ryan says:

..and now this game has just turned into a comedy of errors.

  12. Yikes – this game is becoming a nightmare for the Vikes.

  13. Ryan says:

Yep. It’s being lost at the QB position. All a defense has to do against Minnesota is sellout against the run. The Redskins aren’t playing great at all, the Vikings are playing very, very poorly, especially #7. Right now it’s infecting the rest of the team, which has just given up.

  14. Ryan says:

I’ve said more cuss words during this game than I have in maybe five years total.

  15. Ryan says:

Now I’m gonna start ripping on other things, like John Madden. Captain Obvious in the booth. He’s terrible, and has been for a few years now.

And now we get more Keith Olbermann.

  16. Ryan says:

Wow, I’ve wasted a Sunday evening.

  17. Ryan says:

I’m gonna make some dinner and pack for my trip back to Minnesota. Night all.

  18. Have a safe trip, Ryan!

  19. Tango says:

    Hmmm….looks like the Vikes aren’t quite done YET…. :d

  20. Great White Rat says:

Regardless of who you root for, this is good news. =d>

  21. That is indeed good news, GWR! That he’s even walking again is a huge miracle.

Heard any new news on T.O.? That ankle sprain Saturday night looked scary.

Heard any new news on T.O.?

According to the Dallas Cowboys website, T.O. (Team Obiterator) is listed as “week to week”. Whatever that means. But I suspect that he will sit next week, and will play in the playoffs.

Terry Glenn will almost certainly play, however. So that takes some of the edge off of the Obliterator’s injury.
