   Interesting news out of Iraq:

   Iraqi Lawmakers Pass Key Benchmark De-Baathification Law

   BAGHDAD — Iraq’s parliament adopted legislation Saturday on the reinstatement of thousands of former supporters of Saddam Hussein’s Baath party to government jobs, a key benchmark sought by the United States as a step toward easing sectarian tensions.

   I certainly hope they are right.

   Clinton said — “The oil companies, the drug companies, the health insurance companies, the predatory student loan companies have had seven years of a president who stands up for them. It’s time we had a president who stands up for all of you.”

   But the Center for Responsive Politics reports Clinton has raised almost $270,000 from the pharmaceutical industry — more than any candidate — Democrat or Republican. She has also raised more than $220,000 from the oil and gas industry. That is more than double what her closest Democratic rivals have raised.

   Gosh, I can’t wait for our watchdog media to jump all over this latest hypocrisy from Hill.

   LOL!!!! I jest, of course.

   And I’m sure that the news of this major piece of political progress in Iraq will be front page news and lead every evening broadcast NC Cop. Especially as it addresses the latest Democrat whine about the surge being unsuccessful because no progress is being made on the political front in Iraq.

   Yeah, that’s the ticket!

   Playoff Sunday!!!!

   Yesterday was half and half. I was glad to see the Pack win, I’m a Favre fan, but disappointed to see the Pats win! Somebody beat them please! I can’t stand to listen to all the networks,websites, newspapers, and magazines talk about them!

   That being said, I think it’s safe to say that those guys are the best football team to ever play. I can’t stand them, but I can admit that they are absolutely the best.

   Now, on to the Giants/Cowboys game. Many people are predicting an upset by the Giants…..which is why I’m worried. The Giants always play better when they feel like nobody believes they will win.

   I heard a possibly related story that Jessica Simpson was kidnapped early this morning. She was last seen being stuffed into a NY Giants equipment bag and driven away by two men in Giants jerseys.

   Coincidence? You be the judge.

    Not very scientific, and I can see several holes in the logic, but this is an interesting filter for which candidate might match your views best: Candidate Calculator.

    At least it was designed well enough to know I’m not going to vote for Kucinich….

    Roberts said this weekend: “In retrospect, it was probably unwise to have taken money that could have looked like it would result in a political slant. I am adamant this could not have affected the outcome of the research.”

    But my favorite part is:
