Agreed, Lorica. This is what truly worries me about McCain. Yes, he may have the spine to continue to carry the WOT to AQ, and to gut it out in Iraq to a successful conclusion. I applaud that. But what will he leave us at home?

Will the next tax bill from President McCain differ markedly from what we’d get from Hillary or Empty-Suit? How about a bill to handle illegal immigration? Would McCain issue executive orders about waterboarding that would be too much different from what people like Susan Estrich want? I don’t think so.

It’s the sort of thing that gives me a bad case of political indigestion. Yes, I want to win the WOT and in Iraq. But at what price here?

The ideal scenario, in my opinion, would be if the WOT goes very well over the next 10 months and AQ is decimated. If islamofascism were to recede globally, I’d have no problem skipping the presidential line when I vote in November.

Problem is, that ain’t likely to happen. But I can dream….

and many of my friends like most as their nominee for president.

I have to hand it to the Republicans. They might not want the hand, but they deserve it. If things continue the way they’ve gone, they’re on the verge of nominating the candidate many of them like least and many of my friends like most as their nominee for president.

Ouch! That’s the kiss of death.

Don’t care anymore. The republicans are being sooo stupid. We just don’t seem to be a party of decent ideas anymore. Democrat-lite.

Socialism is indeed socialism, whether you have an “R” or “D” after your name is irrelevant.

And so we head for the semifinals and it’s time for the traditional “fight for the soul of the party.”

The GOP, with Big Daddy McCain v. Mitt Shapeshifter Romney. And the Dem showdown between the grizzled veteran Hillary and the young contender the O-man.

The suspense here in the Big Apple is whether the young contender can pull it out, or will the Zombies in the closed Democratic primary do what the New York Times tells them to do and vote for Hillary. I’ve no clue.
