In a moment that will remind everyone of her emotional reaction to a question asked of her on the eve of the NH primary, La Clinton gave us another PDE (Public Display of Emotion) today while in CT:
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sen. Hillary Clinton teared up this morning at an event at the Yale Child Study Center, where she worked while in law school in the early 1970s.
Penn Rhodeen, who was introducing Clinton, began to choke up, leading Clinton’s eyes to fill with tears, which she wiped out of her left eye. At the time, Rhodeen was saying how proud he was that sheepskin-coat, bell-bottom-wearing young woman he met in 1972 was now running for president.
“Well, I said I would not tear up; already we’re not exactly on the path,” Clinton said with emotion after the introduction.
Clinton is holding a roundtable discussion with Connecticut women to talk about childcare and healthcare.
As there was the last time this happened, there’s a debate going on as to whether the tears were fake or genuine. I haven’t seen a video, so I can’t offer an informed opinion, but my guess is they probably were real … at least if she’s keeping up with the latest polling information which suggests that the comfortable lead she’s had in several Super Duper Tuesday states has all but evaporated.

“whether the tears were real or genuine”
With HRC, it should be whether they were phony or made-up.
That was an error that has now been fixed
This is an act. But Hillary’s too late. The nominations for “Best Actress” in a Comedy I am sure have already been submitted to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences for the Oscars in March.
As a young (25) American male, I have no sympathy for this fake stuff. I’ve seen from people in the workplace who turn it on like tapwater when their told their not doing their jobs. They don’t get away with it….and neither should Hillary. It’s fake. It’s unprofessional. And it’s B.S.
Boo Hoo Hillary. Some people might have have bought your act the first time…..but Americans are not that stupid (I hope) to buy it a second time!
Bruce Tinsley’s got a good perspective on this:
Stanley Fish compares criticism of Hillary Clinton to Anti-Semitism.
Kind of explains the Left’s growing taste for censorship through “hate crime” laws and “Fairness Doctrines”. And Fish has nabbed his culprit – the GOP!
i’m not sure why the tears are a good thing for a candidate – man or woman.who wants a whiney baby in the white house?
it’ll be hard to handle another 8 years of “I” “I” “I” like we had with the first clinton.
do you really think she can “control” her husband’s mouth and actions?
they really do think we’re stupid you know
If the tears had come while describing the plight of illegal immigrants crammed twenty to an apartment, working 20 hour days in the fields for a buck an hour, picking through dumpsters behind the Safeway for food, then there’d be no doubt that the tears were faked.
But note that Hillary doesn’t weep for starving African children – she weeps when the topic is her own sheer wonderfulness. That’s what makes me sure these are genuine tears. Like her husband, she is mired in narcissism. But while Bill just wanted to be liked for himself, Hillary demands that we like her as her due. I really wish we all weren’t forced to study the Clintons’ pathology. I hate soap operas on TV, and have the option of never watching them – an option I exercise constantly. With the Clintons I feel like Alex in A Clockwork Orange, strapped into the chair with my eyelids pryed open.
And my reaction is much like his, without the nausea inducing chemicals.
