Friday funny: Obama On Your Shoulder

Posted by: ST on June 6, 2008 at 6:58 pm

Two weeks ago, I wrote about the fact that rising star Mary Katharine Ham was leaving Townhall.com for the DC Examiner. Today she posted her final HamNation video, and it is a keeper – one of the funniest political vids I’ve seen this year :))

Best of luck, MKH!

    Is Obama an enlightened being?

Here is a key quote from the article:

Barack Obama isn’t really one of us. Not in the normal way, anyway.

    And:

Many spiritually advanced people I know (not coweringly religious, mind you, but deeply spiritual) identify Obama as a Lightworker, that rare kind of attuned being who has the ability to lead us not merely to new foreign policies or health care plans or whatnot, but who can actually help usher in a new way of being on the planet, of relating and connecting and engaging with this bizarre earthly experiment. These kinds of people actually help us evolve. They are philosophers and peacemakers of a very high order, and they speak not just to reason or emotion, but to the soul.

The unusual thing is, true Lightworkers almost never appear on such a brutal, spiritually demeaning stage as national politics. This is why Obama is so rare. And this why he is so often compared to Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr., to those leaders in our culture whose stirring vibrations still resonate throughout our short history.

I cannot decide if this article is spoof or sincere, although given the fact that this appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle I suspect that it is the latter. There is also an absolutely horrifying deadly sincerity in the author’s writing which leads me to believe so. If indeed the author is serious it would show just how far this creepy Messiah gestalt about Obama has crept into our political system.

The author (Mark Morford) claims that he is not making Obama out to be some sort of Messiah. The evidence suggests otherwise. But if the author (and millions of worshippers of the Cult of Obama) really do think that Obama is some sort of progressive enlightened American Harmonic Convergence of Gaia, Mohammed and Rev. Wright they are going to get something they did not bargain for. Because when voters elect what they believe is a Messiah they often end up instead with a Fuhrer.

Leading the masses with a message of lesser expectations? I don’t think that will fly with most Americans.

  3. Great White Rat says:

Oh, he’s serious all right, MD. Mark Morford is way out on the extreme moonbat fringe, based on some of his past rants and blatherings.

This will be a central component of the Dem campaign strategy all year. Don’t use your brain – just feel the good vibes. Just listen to how well he speaks – don’t concern yourself with what he says.

Jim Jones could only do it for a small cult for a short time. These moonbats are trying to get the entire nation to buy into it.

  4. CZ says:

where can I get one of those voodoo dolls? >:)

  5. Mwalimu Daudi says:

GWR: It figures. I read some of the comments on the website about Morford’s article, and they were just as unhinged. Apparently this is not the first time the author has let rip with something like this.

This Obama cult of personality is starting to become spooky. I don’t recall anything like it in American history.

    compared to Kennedy

I am no big Kennedy fan, but BO hasn’t done squat compared to John Kennedy. 1st off Kennedy was in the Senate from 1953 to 1960, not from 2004 to 2006. Here’s alittle diddy that BO can’t even begin to compare to.

For extremely heroic conduct as Commanding Officer of Motor Torpedo Boat 109 following the collision and sinking of that vessel in the Pacific War Theater on August 1-2, 1943. Unmindful of personal danger, Lieutenant (then Lieutenant, Junior Grade) Kennedy unhesitatingly braved the difficulties and hazards of darkness to direct rescue operations, swimming many hours to secure aid and food after he had succeeded in getting his crew ashore. His outstanding courage, endurance and leadership contributed to the saving of several lives and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.

This is on one of Kennedy’s citations for his medals. He understood the times we were in and after being rejected by the Army, was accepted into the Navy. He didn’t make a speech that only pandered to an ideology that only helps people who have proven all they want to do is destroy our lifestyle.

This political season has gone on WAY to long. I am so sick of both the Dem candidates. I am thankful that the Rep selection process has ended ohhh so long ago, it almost makes me like John McCain. – Lorica
