Another “change we can believe in” endorsement for Obama:

Before he died Wednesday evening, death row inmate Dale Leo Bishop apologized to his victim’s family, thanked America and urged people to vote for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

“For those who oppose the death penalty and want to see it end, our best bet is to vote for Barack Obama because his supporters have been working behind the scenes to end this practice,” Bishop said.

So now you can add at least one convicted murderer to his list of supporters that already includes Hamas, Hezbollah (and by extension, Iran), Kim Jong Il, Fidel Castro, Moammar Qadaffi, and Oooogo Chavez.

You’d expect that at some point the average Obama voter would wonder why every anti-American terrorist and dictator in the world – and now solid citizens like Bishop – loves their candidate and conclude, “That can’t be good.”

Maybe they’re just not capable of such detailed analysis. :-\

How the NYT wanted the McCain editorial rewritten (additions in italics):

In January 2007, when General David Petraeus took command of the dismal situation in Iraq, he called the situation “hard”, but not bordering on “hopeless.” Today, 18 months later, violence has fallen by up to only 80% to the lowest level in four years leaving much work to be done to eliminate the final 20%. Sunni and Shiite terrorists freedom fighters, battling valiantly to protect their homeland, are reeling from a string of defeats minor setbacks. The situation now is full of hope uncertain, but and considerable hard work remains to consolidate our fragile gains rebuild the country we destroyed.

Read the whole thing at The Nose on Your Face. :))

    3. LMAO GWR! Priceless.

      Here’s a good one:

International Olympic Committee Bans Iraq From Beijing Games

The International Olympic Committee confirmed its decision to ban Iraq from taking part in the Beijing Olympics because of the government’s interference with sports by disbanding the country’s National Olympic Committee, Reuters reported.

Are you kidding me? The government’s interference with sports?!?!?!

I think Sweetness and Light put it best:

“Interference”? Does the name Uday Hussain ring a bell with any of the Olympic officials.

I mean, the guy only tortured athletes who did not perform to his liking, what about that interference?

But that was okay. Saddam and company undoubtedly paid the IOC enough baksheesh to get them to turn a blind eye.

I guess the IOC had to do what they could to piss on Iraq over something. Just doing their part.

      Disgusting.
