Mary, Charlie is now schooled by the coiner of the phrase "Bush Doctrine". Sarah basically highlighted to Charlie his own ignorance if he took the time to do research after his silly question.

I agree with Trish, Gibson was trying to trip up Sarah with that vague comment . WHo actually knew what He meant. It was good that she asked him to clarify, it gave her the opportunity to correct him.

Sev is correct too. Many of us are long term posters to our Dear Sister’s Blog. We have strong opinions, but we are also more than willing to discuss these things. I hope you will include this comment, even though I’m not agreeing with everyone else, but frankly, I’m worried.

Mary, you’ll find that simply disagreeing and holding a contrary opinion will not get you banned or your comment not posted here. Our wonderful hostess isn’t like the leftist blogs.

We will challenge other opinions, and disagree, but it’s usually pretty polite, unless the poster is being obnoxious, simply trolling, or being profane or obscene. Those things will get comments dropped and even posters banned, but it takes a fair amount of vitriol to get to that point.

Things can get a tad heated at times, but it’s a far more pleasant place than many blogs. Welcome aboard.

I’d have looked confused if someone asked me about the “Bush doctrine” too. It’s a curious and not particularly accurate phrase.
It’s something like talking about the “Bush regime” instead of the Bush Presidency.

I hope you will include this comment, even though I’m not agreeing with everyone else, but frankly, I’m worried. I thought she looked confused, and even stumped when he asked her about the so-called “Bush doctrine.” She seemed like a college student who stayed up all night cramming for an exam and then completely drew a blank under pressure, not a good thing for someone who’s “a heartbeat away from the presidency” like the msm keeps saying. I just feel like this interview will add fuel to the “she’s not prepared” fire…

I believe her whole intention in asking Gibson to clarify what he meant by the term “Bush Doctrine” was to get him to say what he believes. It seems Charlie was going for a gotcha moment and he got caught. So caught infact that she had to correct his belief of what it actually was. Charlie was not being fair or unbiased last night, and there is ample evidence of that.

Now I have to wonder, will the next OBiden interview include a question about undergarments????- Lorica

The truth of the matter is that if a woman appeared on TV all bloated and shaking when conducting an interview she wouldn’t be there. She would be fired and no doubt a male replacing her. He wouldn’t dare treat a man with such complete derision and the supercilious, condescending attitude that he treated Sarah Palin with. Had she asked him to explain what his question was about the “Bush Doctrine” he would have been stumped and stammering as well as shaking. That’s why he came back with the pathetic response of what was her interpretation of it. The Bush doctrine keeps changing, as anyone who tries to follow the government’s policies knows only too well! Charlie Gibson, given his terrible record wouldn’t know this. Sarah Palin is going to do just fine on the world stage — give her time to get her feet wet.
