2. The $700 billion going to foreign countries to buy oil, a huge part of which can stay here if drilling is done in Anwar, offshore and the Rockies. Imagine the jobs and wealth that can be created with this, not to mention the huge plus for national security and that 75% of the public supports drilling.

3. Barak Obama’s class warfare rhetoric and wanting to tax business more – small and big – when it is they who create the jobs that fuels the economy.

I agree. The shift represents anger over the mortgage crisis and bailout, and the party with the White House takes the blame. But, now that things are settling down for a moment (and if the Camp McCain exploits this), those numbers may start sliding back our way as the public thinks about what happened. If even Saturday Night Live isn’t buying the Pelosi-Frank spin, then there’s a huge opening.

Too late? Maybe so, but I think Obama’s numbers are made of sand. They shot up only after this banking crisis broke out, and the numbers can be changed just as drastically in McCain’s favor. But, yes, it is an uphill battle. Like ST says, the MSM are in the tank for Obama in a big way (just ask the Clintons), and it’s hard to overcome that.

I’m glad they’re finally starting to smack Obama over his past associations — Gov. Palin’s comments were a good start. Let’s hope they open up the hose. I think it will work: the Obama campaign was already in full whine-mode over Sarah’s comments. We know they have a thin skin: the trick is to annoy them into a stupid response.
