There was one with Richard Petty today in Charlotte at the Lowes Motor Speedway at 3pm. He endorsed McCain. Had an email from Liz Mair of the McCain camp, was open to the public.

I hope there is another this coming week. Taking pto, really nothing to do, though, might go to Atlanta for the Devils/Thrashers game on thursday for the hell of it.

Hey, ST, did you go to the McCain/palin rally in Charlotte Saturday? I so wanted to go, but, had to move my vacation back a day. Gonna try to go to the McCain townhall in Wilmington Monday if there are any tickets left. Though I am tempted to drive to Richmond instead to see SarahCuda.

Excellent piece in today’s WSJ by Kimberley Strassel: Obama’s Magic .

It gathers together all of Obama’s confused and inconsistent policies – like cutting taxes for 95% of us while at the same time expanding government spending by a trillion dollars – into several concise, easily understood, points. Example:

And just watch the Great Obama perform a feat never yet managed in all history. He will create that enormous new government health program, spend billions to transform our energy economy, provide financial assistance to former Soviet satellites, invest in infrastructure, increase education spending, provide job training assistance, and give 95% of Americans a tax (ahem) cut — all without raising the deficit a single penny! And he’ll do it in the middle of a financial crisis. And with falling tax revenues! Voila!

I wish McCain would memorize some of these points and use them on Wednesday. He needs to pound this message into the heads of those so-called swing voters: Obama’s plans for the economy could only work on Fantasy Island – not in the real world.

Obama Muslim Outreach Coordinator Under Fire for Meeting With Extremists

Barack Obama’s newly appointed Muslim outreach adviser is coming under fire for meeting with Islamic groups with extremist views, just two months after her predecessor resigned over links to a radical cleric.

Of course, Obama will claim that he knew nothing about it and never authorized anything like this, and the media will only be too happy to oblige.

Among the attendees were senior members of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, which was listed by federal prosecutors as an unindicted co-conspirator in a terror-related trial.

I have come to the conclusion that we may have to accept the fact that we must suffer through another Jimmy Carter administration, in order to get another Ronald Reagan.

The people of this country have forgotten why Republicans have been in the White House for 20 years of the last 28, and apparently need another reminder.

I only hope we survive 4 years of Obama….if it happens.
