William, I won’t be as gracious as you. My response will be something like this:

“Yes you did. He asked for higher taxes and you said ‘Yes we can’. He asked if it was OK to leave the Middle East to the tender mercies of Iran and al Qaeda, and you said ‘Yes we can’. He asked if you could trust a Chicago machine politician to handle justice and health care, and you chanted ‘Yes we can.’ You got what you asked for. Shut up and trying thinking next time you vote.”

If this banking crisis does result in an Obama victory and big Dem gains in both houses of Congress, it will be a bitter irony that the party that caused it, and ignored warnings that it was coming, is rewarded, while the party that tried to stop it is punished just because it is the party of the president, even though that president also warned against it. Life isn’t always fair, and this will be a classic example. I pray to God it doesn’t happen.

I say let the Democrats go hog wild if they gain a super majority in Congress. Assuming we survive the following two years, Republicans could get back in the driver’s seat easily and the country could get back on the right track.

I’m thinking of writing a post on Sunday at Right Wing News that conservatives should learn the phrase “I told ya so!”,

Are you kidding? I’ve practically been doing that since 2006. Only just a few days ago, I told my dad I felt vindicated by this economic mess – saying “I knew I was right to vote Republican – I just knew it.”

Hey, what do you know? There’s another positive of an Obama presidency.

I for one wouldn’t be so kind to people who vote for Obama saying “I didn’t vote for that.” I’ll be tempted to tell them where to go. I might say, “You were warned. We gave you the facts, and you chose to ignore them. Now, shut up and take your medicine, and damn you for making me take it with you!” I’ll try and restrain myself, and pray that the occassion will not arise.
