An interesting analysis by Bill Roggio.

And:
In short – this was a military assault launched from a foreign country, and almost certainly with the help of some in that foreign country’s government. It is no wonder the local police were quickly routed.
This attack shows the complete failure of the so-called “law enforcement” approach to fighting terrorism. Unfortunately, on January 20, 2009 we will turn from a winning strategy to the one that created the favorable atmosphere for the Mumbai attacks. Recall that at one point Obama was yammering about bombing Pakistan in order to go after bin Laden. Did it occur to the Messiah that some in the Pakistani government might also be al Qaeda’s pocket, and that lobbing a few cruise missiles into some unspecified targets might in fact be counterproductive? Short of invading Pakistan and rooting out al Qaeda by force (remember that Pakistan has nukes) I don’t see how any military action would be effective.
