Whoa, Nellie! Great comments above. Thanks, gents. ^:)^

Anyway, my take is: now we know that the Times will take an anti-Caroline position. There will probably be an editorial the Sunday before the inauguration--that will be . . . . hmm and hmm . . . ah yes, January 18, urging Governor Paterson to appoint the one the Times will anoint (we'll know who that person will be when the puff pieces about him or her start to appear in five, four, three, two . . .).

Just today, the good folks dwelling in the Times building and rock-climbing site, presented us with an article on how Caroline has yet to disclose financial data, whinging that as an appointee, she is not required by state law to do so. In response Ms. K. points out that she has not been appointed to anything yet, and that if she is, she will.

Then, of course, when the evil deed is done, and she appears next to the governor on the podium for her first press conference as Junior Senator from the State of New York, the Times will duly report this and write another editorial in which they sulk some more.

As for why the Times is hostile, as for why the Times would even imagine in the first place why the Mayor of Paris would be concerned with who represents New York in the Senate, je ne sais pas.

Speaking as Senate Candidate #5 (honset Injin I am!) I am waiting for Sneery to weigh in on this issue. Like any good liberal I need the loudest, most irrational voice to tell me what I should be thinking....

Don't forget the "Rampaging killer vets coming to your town soon!" article. Which somehow was negated by the statistics showing veterans actually committed fewer homicides than the general population.

But it did fit the narrative. So into the paper it went. Just as did the loathsome toad Bill Ayers' exculpatory fantasies about how all he and his friends wanted was social justice, and if they were guilty of anything, it was of simply caring too much. And just as did not appear John McCain's submitted op-ed, because permitting both presidential candidates to express themselves was... oh, I don't even care what BS justification the NYT commissars used.

Likewise, this letter purported to come from a senior French politician (ooh, see how sophisticated this letter is? Couldn't you just swoon?) and mentioned "America's decline" (ooh, did you feel that tingle! Right up my leg it went!). Too good not to run. Again, it fit the narrative like that final jigsaw puzzle piece.

They can't go broke fast enough for me. We all have been betrayed by the liars and whores in the media, and even the most starry eyed Obamaphile ought to be horrifed at what the press has become.

Everything liberals get involved in, from news media to government (unfortunately for us) devolves into an operation run by children. Check facts? Nah. Take responsibility for your own mistakes? How grown up, not going to happen. Accept facts that don't fit your own biased viewpoint? What did you say, I had my fingers in my ears and was shrieking lalalala...

Every weakness in the human character is fully on display, and rather than any attempt to control it or live up to a higher standard, they revel in it. I can understand the allure of liberalism, not only does it mean never having to say you're sorry, it means never having to grow up, you get to live in a fantasy world forever.
