By chance, I stumbled over your column of Nov. 8, a series of statements about what “Obama means.” Political views aside, what I found most interesting is your description of the Founding Fathers, whom you characterized as a bunch of “old white men.”
Any fair examination of these men will be far more charitable than that. Or is it simply that men such as Jefferson, Franklin, Adams, Washington, et al are, when compared to the majesty of Obama, reduced to insignificance? I suppose we must rewrite history in the wake of Obama’s election. Clearly, Obama’s light obscures all others.
I fear that, when Obama actually does something, your head may simply explode from the sheer adoration of the moment.

Latest example: today’s editorial in the Philadelphia Inquirer. The left-wing lickspittles at the Inky editorial board are actually making excuses for Tim Geithner. Not paying your taxes isn’t such a big deal, you see:

Geithner prepared his own taxes. As such, it’s perhaps understandable that even a savvy businessman like Geithner could get tripped up by the Byzantine tax code.

Hey, Inky editorial board, here’s an idea: how about simplifying the tax laws to the point where the Treasury Secreatary and the Chairman of the House Ways and Means committee can both understand them? Like, say…a flat tax??

But here’s the real gem in this editorial:

By most accounts, Geithner is a smart guy. He may very well make an excellent treasury secretary. Given his early stumbles, there appears to be nowhere to go but up.

Now there’s a great reason to support his nomination: he can’t get any worse!!! It sets a wonderful standard for all future Obama appointments.

Of course, there’d be the same type of compassionate understanding from the Inky if a Republican president appointed a tax cheat to manage the economy, right???

Re the Post – The cult of Obama will continue for some time, I’m afraid. It’s bad enough when it comes from the Hollyweird types or even average citizens, but must the media join in?
