Why bother with Alcatraz? Just turn them loose on the streets of San Francisco. All the peace and love will make them see the light. If not, some of the surviving moonbats will begin to get the idea of who we are dealing with.

I LOVE the idea! I am a conservative living an hour South of San Francisco (there are a few of us who exist here believe it or not) and I would be more than happy to see the detainees moved to Alcatraz. It would make my loud-mouthed-liberal neighbors apoplectic (I already hear their rantings on a regular basis anyway, I might as well get some enjoyment out of it!). It would be great if they would also send all of the urine-stained, money-grubbing, drug-addicts who have been allowed to take over the city to the Rock, too, so the rest of us can visit once again with our children (I can’t stand going there anymore because it’s so disgusting and I have to explain to my kids why the rat-haired people covered in their own defecation are demanding money from us and/or are shouting obscenities at their hallucinations).

As an alternative, Nancy suggested that the al Qaeda detainees stay at her house in San Fransisco as she is usually in DC and it’s the patritoic thing to do.

Obama wants to spend money for infrastructure, well, Alcatraz would need renovation. There’s a bunch of good jobs right there! Plus, all the water taxi jobs ferrying workers, food and supplies to the Rock.

Plus, you could keep the jihadists right there where all the good liberals who wanted to close Gitmo can keep their eyes on them!

Am I allowed to suggest that we put them all on a boat headed back for the Middle East, and send them half way home?

This is where President Bush made a major mistake: he wanted to punish these guys, but should have declared them prisoners of war. In that way, they could be held, period, until the end of the war. Unless we were going to execute them — and no, we weren’t — their only punishment for crimes would be jail, and they’d already be incarcerated as POWs.

Kind of reminds me of Ted Kennedy being in favor of alternative energy, unless it spoils the view from his property.

Alcatraz is actually not a bad idea. I suggested to a friend that we use one of the more remote Aleutian Islands. Not only would they be yearning for the warmth of Gitmo, but any who escaped could be picked off by Governor Palin at long range from her office window.
