I do have to agree with you Dear. Who really wants to have a discussion on race when the other side calls blacks on this side of the aisle “Uncle Toms”??? Maybe when they decide to be abit more respectful, we might be able to talk about this abit. – Lorica

Well, although if you ask me AG Holder sounds as much like Rev. Wright as ST sounds like a member of the KKK–i.e., not one bit–I still think we’re making great progress on race. Umm, exactly who is president?

Anyway: If you look at popular culture rather than listening to the usual suspects, what do you find?

. The wedding in the movie “Rachel Getting Married” involves the wedding of a mix-race couple–a fact that is never mentioned.

. On “House” bisexual (white) “13″ is having an affair with black Dr. Foreman.

. “American Idol” has had popular contestants of all races.

. The NFL, whose owners virtually had to be clubbed into agreeing to even interview blacks for head coaching jobs, now has a few who’ve won Super Bowls. The last being Mike Tomlin of the Steelers, whose owner was the very man who forced the other owners to agree to the Rooney Rule.

I could go on, but I think I made my point.

People might be more inclined to be “frank” on such matters if we had not been bludgeoned by 30+ years of politically correct indoctrination and finger-wagging into the straight-jacket of what constitutes ‘free’ public discourse these days (Dinesh D’Souza, Thomas Sowell and other brave souls notwithstanding).
