His holiness (hollowness) knew what he was doing when he asked Freeman to direct the NIC. He is exactly the kind of person Big Zero wishes he could appoint to all the departments but can't because those have to be approved by Congress. Even Dingy Harry would blanche at that!

Obama's made some bad appointments (Geithner, Daschle, Locke, Powers, i.a.), but this is the first one that's truly appalling. For pity's sake, the man thought the fascist regime in Beijing was too cautious in the way they massacred pro-democracy demonstrators. That alone should disqualify him from any post of responsibility in the US government. :(

I, too, never thought I'd be wishing it was a Clinton in the White House instead of Obama. Don't think I could stomach Carter though. This stuff is really scary.

ST asks:

if you can figure out what the hell Team Obama was smoking when they (and he) made the decision to pick this anti-Semitic anti-democracy anti-American weasel to head the NIC.

Oh, I think it's pretty clear. He's there to quash any disturbing report of trifles like Iranian thermonuclear weapons research progress, or support for the likes of Hamas and Hezbollah by islamic states, or al Qaeda resurgence. Intelligence of that sort must never reach the ears of the Dalai Bama.

In the same vein, intelligence on signs of further progress in Iraq will get the same treatment. Freeman is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Saudis and the Chinese, and he's there to make sure all the intelligence fits the narrative. Any intelligence gathered that doesn't fit the preordained leftist view of the world will be treated as unreliable and will never reach the president.

That gives Obama the excuse of saying 'no one told me' when the next overseas crisis smacks him in the face. And it will. Just wait for it. Joe Biden said so, remember?

Also, Freeman may be the way Obama tries to make nice with people like Achmadinejad and bin Laden behind the scenes. Hillary can do the tough posturing from Foggy Bottom, while the real action could work through back channels under Freeman's direction.

Yearn for Clinton?? Hell, this administration may yet make Jimmy Carter look good at the rate they're bungling things.

Absolutely stunning. I don't know what's left, except the assault on the 2nd amendment. I think you'll see the breaking point when Obama goes after guns.
