Too late to read the damn thing now

Posted by: ST on March 18, 2009 at 9:54 am

But As For Me notes that the guarantee of bonuses to AIG was specifically (thanks to Chris Dodd) written into the stimulus bill, you know, the one Congress had to immediately rush through to “keep the economy from collapsing” (via Jim Geraghty).

BAFM also points out how even some in the mainstream media are reporting on how Obama and members of Congress knew about the bonuses well before now.

Guess what? This country has been bitten in the a**. Again. By people who don’t know what the hell they’re doing – or do, but try to cover it up later. If Chris Dodd gets re-elected to the Senate next year, the people of CT will get what they deserve out of it – but the rest of the country will not.

(Sheesh – can you tell I’m mad? This is the most curse words I’ve ever put into one post.)

Does anyone have any idea what it will take to wake up the American people who were fooled by these clowns?

Carol, it will take a truly conservative Republican Party. Not a “Democrat Lite” party that we have had the last few years. Yet the morons who run the Reps, can’t figure out that conservatism works for everyone, not just the select few that liberalism works for. – Lorica

Dear, what do you expect from this group of liars and cheats??? Their only care is for power, they don’t give two shakes about this country.

I now have to wonder just how many of the people voted for Barack are now asking themselves if this is what they voted for. Look at Barack’s poll numbers, even lower than GW’s at this point in his presidency. So now you are going to see the lib MSM start playing with the polls to show that these were false. HA!! – Lorica

I guess that the Won’s voters should have read the fine print before they voted for Him last November.

  5. I was saying elsewhere that we need a new word for “Chris Dodd” levels of hypocrisy.

  6. Tom TB says:

I’m starting NOW, as a CT resident. Dodd ran for the presidency and bought a house in Iowa; so I guess for a brief period we had one Senator and Iowans had three? Time for “Change”!

Those “educated voters” who wasted their votes on His Hollowness don’t read or listen to the news, they don’t think about what is happening to the country, they don’t care enough to inform themselves of anything except what’s for dinner and when’s “American Idol” on? To say they need to be informed is to be spitting into the wind.

Of course they need to be informed! But they long ago gave up on thinking (if they ever had the ability) and leave such mundane tasks to their sources of news: ABCNBCCBSCNN/Timesx20,anything to get out of having to use their own brain cells.

If one thinks about what is being spewed from the MSM, one can figure out that something is wrong, but that would take some effort, and the mindlessness rampant in this country today does not allow such effort because that also implies responsibility, the responsibility to be informed.

Forget about informing Obamites. They love him the way abused spouses love the abuser.

AnthonyLA: maybe we could call it “Dodding” the truth? “Spin” just doesn’t seem to capture it, and some object to the term “lying”.

Carol, when “Boss Tweed” ran the Tammany Hall political machine, he didn’t care what the Times wrote in its editorials or the facts laid out in news articles. The voters loved him and they did not let facts get in the way of supporting him and his cronies. It took a cartoonist, Thomas Nast, to get through to the public and present Tweed as a pompous a** and expose the corruption of the Tweed Ring.
Presenting facts is the easy half communications. Getting the message through the barriers of the receiver’s biases is much more difficult.
The commentators who present facts with humor can reach the masses better than charts, grafts, and spreadsheets. The left knows this and that is why the need to silence opposition.

BTW President Obama may have inherited the economic cycle, but it was his administration that approved the Dodd amendment and the bonuses he now protests.
The administration counted upon getting legislation passed under the cover of a crisis. They did not expect anybody to actually read all the details. They underestimated the American people, some of whom have taken the time and made an effort to read the documents and expose the facts.
It is easier now for accurate information to reach the public in the internet age than it was when the print media controlled all the content. Obama voters may be prepared to dismiss inconvenient facts that demonstrate the President is clueless and they can respond with their typical analysis and cry racism. It is a matter of time before the public gets tired of that refrain.
In the meantime it is good to have voices on the air and in blogs that can present facts with humor. People who don’t want to hear the facts will have to work harder to silence the voices or to attack the speaker.

    ST,
I am an informed black woman. I did not vote for this president. Are there any conservative blacks out there? For the life of me, I can see the bull that’s dished out, even during the campaign. If I hear anyone say the first balck president,I will throw up! He is not black! May I explain something here? Ok, previous presidents were born from white mothers. I am not being racial here. What color was Mr. Obama’s mother? I really don’t think he knows who he is. I am serious about this! He has thrown his family under the bus, has a brother living in poverty, aunt living illegally here. He doesn’t talk about his mother or grandparents. There are some serious personality issues here.I feel sorry for him and yes, I do hope his policies fail. I think it’s racial when I hear the msm coddle him and mention the racial thing. I am repulsed by that because you saying that because of the color of my skin I cannot run the country unless i am enabled. That’s racist to me and very hypocritical! I don’t watch the news anymore, except Fox. It’s so obvious to me Am I making any sense here? If this is much ST,you don’t have to post it. I am just venting. The biggest con job in an election! Makes the Clintons look like Ken and Barbie!:):)

  12. Dishman says:

Obama is now publicly disclaiming responsibility for his signature.

    That’s huge, and terrible.

  13. Carol says:

Jeanie, you’re a breath of fresh air. I am a White woman whose best friend is a Black man. I grew up in Detroit. I call my friend weekly because I feel Obama and his crooked friends have set back racism in this country decades. He has hurt the beautiful Black people out there who just want to live the American dream. God bless you for speaking up. We need more people like you stepping up to the plate. Thank you!
