New Obama-bot talking point that showed up yesterday ..

Ignore the fact (or any other facts) that Obama supported a “single payer” plan (but said there wasn’t support for it yet) back in 2003 and 2008, rather what is important is the plan he is putting forth now.

That seems like a tall order .. it’s sort of like saying you should ignore any Japanese ships heading toward Pearl Harbor in early Dec 1941.

Conservatives take heart! Obama will ruin the economy in another few months. Voters will at least be ready to listen.

    Ya gotta love this:

Gas prices rise as peak driving season looms

    CNN’s first alibi:

The good news: Analysts say a return to last summer’s record highs of $4 a gallon is not on the horizon. Indeed, while prices have been on a tear, they are still some 46% lower from the all-time high of $4.114 a gallon hit last July.

It was worse under Bush! But then another excuse pops up:

[T]he current runup is not surprising because prices typically increase ahead of the Memorial Day holiday — the unofficial beginning of the peak summer driving season.

It’s nothing to worry about since it is all the fault of the God-and-SUV-clinging consumer! But wait:

Oil prices have rallied some 73% over the past three months as signs the economy is headed for a recovery have raised bets that demand for oil and gas will rebound sooner rather than later.

It’s the booming economy’s fault! Three mutually exclusive excuses in one article! That must be a record – even for CNN!

Last year all the government-approved media could say was how higher oil prices were a sign of economic disaster. Now they tell us we should be thankful for higher prices since that mean economic Paradise is just around the corner. Coming soon: High gas prices will save the environment and help you to lose weight!

Oil prices are rising because of one reason and one reason only – supply and demand. The Won’s decision to stop new domestic exploration for oil while pushing wacko “green” technologies makes us more and more dependent upon foreign oil. Less supply always equals higher prices.

Despite seasonal variations, energy prices are going up in the short, medium, and long runs, not down. And just wait until hyper-inflation brought on the Won’s deficits hits!

You will know that the media is panicking about high oil prices when they start shrieking about record profits by Big Oil.
