Good link and I enjoy your blog.

At the risk of looking petty, isn’t that a photo of a cherry tree? Getty Images may know more about trees than I do or maybe magnolias in DC look different, but that doesn’t look like the magnolia in my back yard.

Schumer is a sleazebucket. Dodd is a sleazebucket. Kennedy is a sleazebucket. Frank is a sleazebucket. But Pelosi is waaay beyond sleazebucket.

And why is it that every time a Republican gets caught in a coverup (of any kind) he/she is thoroughly humiliated and then crucified, but this walking example of moral devolution barely gets a notice in the MSM, let alone by her esteemed donkey (jackass) colleagues? If I didn’t know better I might suspect a double standard there somewhere.

Senator Jim Webb, just said that we should defer to the present administration in regards to closing Gitmo. I don’t know but that seems to be a turn around from his attitude since the last adminstration. What a bunch of 2 face a**holes. – Lorica

North Carolina Teen Tries to Rob Bank With Banana, Then Eats It Before Police Arrive

    Saturday, May 16, 2009

Print ShareThisWINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Authorities say a North Carolina teen who was thwarted as he tried to rob a store with a banana ate it before they could arrive.

Winston-Salem authorities say 17-year-old John Szwalla held the banana under his shirt when he entered the store Thursday, saying he had a gun and demanded money.

Owner Bobby Ray Mabe says he and a customer jumped Szwalla, holding him until deputies arrived. While they waited, Mabe says the teen ate the banana.

Mabe says deputies took pictures of the banana peel.

Forsyth County Sheriff’s office spokesman Maj. Brad Stanley says deputies joked about charging Szwalla with destroying evidence.

Szwalla faces a charge of attempted armed robbery. Jail officials say he doesn’t have an attorney.

Police: Teen in ‘Snuggie’ Tried to Break Into New Jersey Grocery Store

    Friday, May 15, 2009

Print ShareThisAn 18-year-old man wearing a “Snuggie” allegedly tried to break into a New Jersey grocery store, but was stopped when witnesses say they saw him climb through a window, the Daily Record reported.

Authorities found Brandon Ryzner-Meredith, 18, wearing a dark blue Snuggie — advertised as a blanket with arms — and a hooded sweatshirt.

Detective Lt. Michael Richards said Ryzner-Meredith was also found in possession of a socket driver, a tool they believe he used to try to pry open the door.

“It was a match with the description of witnesses of a large dark overcoat or trench coat,” said Richards, of the Snuggie. “He had some intention to conceal himself.”

Police say Ryzner-Meredith was charged with criminal mischief, attempted burglary and possession of burglar’s tools.

He was released pending a court appearance.

I’ve never seen a car review that reads like something out of The Onion…

So here goes. It’s terrible. Biblically terrible. Possibly the worst new car money can buy. It’s the first car I’ve ever considered crashing into a tree, on purpose, so I didn’t have to drive it any more.
The biggest problem, and it’s taken me a while to work this out, because all the other problems are so vast and so cancerous, is the gearbox. For reasons known only to itself, Honda has fitted the Insight with something called constantly variable transmission (CVT).
It doesn’t work. Put your foot down in a normal car and the revs climb in tandem with the speed. In a CVT car, the revs spool up quickly and then the speed rises to match them. It feels like the clutch is slipping. It feels horrid.
And the sound is worse. The Honda’s petrol engine is a much-shaved, built-for-economy, low-friction 1.3 that, at full chat, makes a noise worse than someone else’s crying baby on an airliner. It’s worse than the sound of your parachute failing to open. Really, to get an idea of how awful it is, you’d have to sit a dog on a ham slicer.
